Cooper Kupp Anytime Touchdown

The LA Rams are a team who a couple of years ago were a team tailor made for Hollywood, with superstars on both sides of the ball and it won them a Super Bowl. Since then many of the stars have left and the team is very much in the middle of the pack this season. One man who is still on the scene though, is wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

The 30-year-old missed the first four games of the season through injury but since returning to the lineup has been exceptional, averaging 98 receiving yards a game, relying on his relationship with quarterback Matthew Stafford to trouble opposing offences. After a quieter than usual week last week against the Steelers I’m backing Kupp to return to the endzone with his second score of the season.

Puka Nacua Over 78.5 Receiving Yards

While Kupp was out injured the Rams offence relied heavily on running back Kyren Williams and rookie receiver Puka Nacua, who has been a revelation. With Williams now, unfortunately, nursing how own injury and the Rams planning to play anywhere up to four different running backs on Sunday I would expect the onus to be on the passing game.

Initially, the return of Kupp did see Nacua’s productivity drop but last week he was back to his best with eight catches for 154 yards. With Dallas focused on stopping Kupp I’m backing his support act to easily top his 78.5 receiving yards line.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Commanders

A.J. Brown Over 89.5 Receiving Yards

The Philadelphia Eagles come into Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders off the back of a statement win over the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, a win that saw A.J. Brown continue his exceptional form.

So far this season Brown has caught 52 passes (4th most in the NFL) for 809 yards (2nd most) with his best outing of the season coming against Sunday’s opponents. The former Tennessee Titan torched the Commanders defence for 175 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-31 overtime win. Having topped 100 yards in each of his last five games I’m backing him to do it again on Sunday.

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins

Handicap: Miami Dolphins -9.5

The New England Patriots had a surprise win at home against the Buffalo Bills last week but this Sunday another AFC East opponent is pretty unlikely to allow the same thing to happen again. Mike McDaniel’s Miami Dolphins are a formidable foe, with Tyreek Hill, Jalen Waddle and Raheem Mostert supporting Tua Tagovailoa to create one of the most electric offences in the league. The points line for this game is 45.5 points and with that offence, Miami are probably capable of covering it themselves.

Historically the Patriots are very poor when playing in Miami and, despite their dominance of the NFL over the last two decades, have only ever won 30% of their games against the Dolphins. Look for Miami to stamp their authority on their division and win comfortably here.

Houston Texans @ Carolina Panthers

Handicap: Houston Texans -3.5

The battle of the first two players picked in the 2023 NFL Draft as quarterbacks Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud face off in Carolina. Young’s Carolina Panthers career has been off to a rocky start with the teams best performance of the season arguably coming in the only game the rookie missed, a 37-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

By contrast C.J. Stroud is battling Puka Nacua for rookie of the year and went six weeks before he threw an interception. Stroud, undoubtedly, was drafted into a better situation with a head coach in DeMeco Ryans showing himself to be an astute manager of the game. Carolina have lost every game this season by an average of 12 points a game so I think the Texans handicap of -3.5 is well worth a look.
