The Pittsburgh Steelers were the last unbeaten team in the NFL, but they surrendered their perfect record to an Alex Smith-inspired Washington team last Monday. That has brought top seed in the AFC in to play, while things are also heating up in the NFC.

This week sees several games with playoff implications. As usual, our NFL trader, Ian Dent, has given us his best bets.

Treble – Jaguars (+7.5), Chiefs (-7.5) & Bears (+1.5)

Although the Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t won since the opening week, they have been competitive in a lot of their games recently.

In four of their last five games they’ve been within four points. I like them getting 7.5 points at home against a Tennessee Titans team who were very disappointing last week. Derrick Henry has a superb record against the Jags, so he is the big danger.

(+7.5)

For the second leg, I’ll take the Kansas City Chiefs to cover -7.5. When Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are on form they can cover any spread and while the Miami Dolphins D has been very good this year, Tua Tagovailoa has been generally slow-paced at quarterback and they haven’t been that high scoring.

(-7.5)

Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs Denver Broncos December 6, 2020

Finally, I’ll take the Chicago Bears getting 1.5 points at home to the Houston Texans. Both teams have been struggling lately. The Texans are down to the bare bones at receiver and Deshaun Watson hasn’t got many weapons left.

They struggled badly in the second half last week, so I think the Bears getting points at home is too tempting.

(+1.5)

This treble pays out at approximately 6/1

Same Game Multi – Colts @ Raiders: Colts on money line, Jonathan Taylor rushing yards OVER & Derek Carr passing yards OVER

The Las Vegas Raiders were unimpressive last week against the Jets. They fell away similarly last year towards the end and I can see the Indianapolis Colts winning on the road here.

I like the rookie running back from Indianapolis, Jonathan Taylor, to go over his rushing yards line here. He rushed for 91 yards last week on 13 carries and they are starting to lean on him more as the season goes on and I can see his good form continuing.

Derek Carr Las Vegas Raiders New York Jets December 6, 2020

I also like Derek Carr to go over on his passing yards line. He has plenty of weapons at his disposal, and Josh Jacobs is out so I feel they will be passing it more. Darren Waller had over 200 yards last week, while they also have Henry Ruggs III and Nelson Agholor so I can see them racking up plenty of yards through the air.

A Treble on these bets pays out at around 7/2

Monday Night Football Double – Ravens @ Browns: Browns (+1.5) & Nick Chubb first TD scorer

This is an excellent game for Monday night. These teams are battling it out for a wild card spot, but I am leaning towards the Cleveland Browns getting 1.5 points at home.

(+1.5)

The Browns look like they are starting to click, and they have been impressive lately. Baker Mayfield passed for four touchdowns last week in the first half! And their running game was already one of the best in the league, which will become more important as the weather gets colder.

Baker Mayfield Cleveland Browns Tennessee Titans December 6, 2020

With that in mind, I will be going for Nick Chubb to score the first touchdown. The Cleveland running back is getting around 65 per cent of the snaps and looks the best bet.

These bets double up for odds of over 17/2
