Cheltenham Festival Lucky 15 Tips

Friday 15th March (15:30) Gold Cup – Corach Rambler (each way)
There’s only three weeks to go until the 2024 Cheltenham Festival and, with Paddy going Non Runner Money Back it’s time to fish out a few who could pay for you.
Tuesday 12 March (13:30) Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – Firefox (each-way)
The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is the curtain raiser on the opening day and Firefox is the value bet as an each-way play in this contest. It was very interesting listening to his jockey Jack Kennedy talk about him. He’s already beaten Ballyburn even though the Mullins’ runners wasn’t fully wound up for that 2m maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse, but he still looked good. A few of Gordon Elliot’s were running a little under par when he was beaten into fourth place at Naas over 2m 4f, but he jumped well in that contest. He has to be a leading candidate for the places at least in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
Thursday 14th March (13:30) Turners Novices’ Chase – Fact To File
Fact To File in the Turners Novices’ Chase is a very solid bet. He is in The Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase over 3m but he’s not short of pace and I can see him pitching up in this contest. With Paddy going Non Runner Money Back you’ll get your stake back if I’ve picked the wrong race.
The reasoning behind choosing Fact To File is two-fold. Firstly, he was a very good second in the Champion Bumper last year and beat Gaelic Warrior comprehensively at Leopardstown, where they went hard. The pace will be similar at Cheltenham and this contest will be perfect for him.
Thursday 14th March (14:50) Ryanair Chase – Protektorat (each-way)
I can’t see Protektorat going off at his current price as we know he is very effective at Cheltenham. He was placed in a Gold Cup two years ago and was 5th last year. Riding him forward will suit and he is better than he showed at Newbury last tie , where the ground was plenty quick enough for him. Banbridge will be hard to beat, but if the ground comes up very soft or heavy Dan Skelton’s horse will not be anywhere as big a price as he is now.
Friday 15th March (15:30) Gold Cup – Corach Rambler (each-way)
A big-field Gold Cup will suit Corach Rambler and his style of racing. Remember how well he won on the old course last year, beating Fastorslow and Monbeg Genius before going on to land the Aintree Grand National. That is solid form and I just can’t get away from him as a value bet each-way in the feature race of the Cheltenham Festival.
