16:20 – Cupola
Karl Burke saddles a pair of interesting newcomers in Rajwa and Wonderbolt and they need monitoring in the market, while stylish C&D scorer Enola Holmes (second choice) seems sure to play a key part here. That said, there was a lot to like about the recent debut Lingfield third of CUPOLA so Clive Cox’s filly gets the vote.
16:55 – Sun Keeper
A return to a positive ride could result in a better performance from Top Biller, tactics that proved so effective over C&D last month, but the vote goes to SUN KEEPER who showed improvement when third on handicap debut at Newcastle four weeks ago and that form has since been boosted by the first two.
17:30 – Kaleidoscope Eyes
There are reasons to expect better from Royal Accord (stable debut), while Oisin McSweeney’s 3lb claim is helpful for the 5f course winner Causin A Commotion. However, in a race where plenty arrive out of sorts, and from declining marks, the safest option is seemingly the in-form KALEIDOSCOPE EYES. Given her run-style, Mick Appleby’s filly should be suited by dropping back in distance.
18:00 – Marvellous Lady
A few with chances but the ex-Irish MARVELLOUS LADY was quick to get off the mark for James Owen here last week and can now defy a 5lb penalty with this much longer trip also likely to be to her benefit. Stablemate Addosh could emerge as the main danger after a solid stint hurdling, although in-form duo Balgowan and Black Smoke can also have a say.
18:30 – Mamdoh (NAP)
This can go the way of C&D winner MAMDOH (nap) who has advanced his form since the cheekpieces went on and can race off the same mark as when a good Southwell second on Friday. In-form C&D winner Daaris could emerge as the main danger ahead of Sophosc.
19:00 – City Of God
Sweet Fantastic did well to defy the widest stall when winning at Kempton last month so is respected off 4lb higher, but he may have to give best to the unexposed CITY OF GOD who remains open to further improvement now handicapping after his all-the-way success at Southwell last month. Master Technician looks best of the rest.
19:30 – Grecian God
Mark Usher’s GRECIAN GOD is preferred to Scarfo and Dandy Lichious. The selection hasn’t had a whole lot of luck since winning here in August and this is his first run in a classified race.
20:00 – Mr Fustic
A handful with claims on their recent efforts and Mariner can go well for a yard in great form. MR FUSTIC won only narrowly at Lingfield recently but there were extenuating circumstances and he’s a lot lower in the weights than he was this time last year. Waistcoat could easily have more to come for his new yard while Delta Legend has possibilities if this combination of aids helps. Celebrating Ethel and Charlatan should also be involved.
20:30 – High Court Judge
Starfighter makes some appeal now he’s returned to form again but HIGH COURT JUDGE continues to carry all before him and the six-timer is very much on the cards so long as he doesn’t start to flag after a busy spell. Cerulean Summer and Sense Of Worth are other possible candidates.
