Horse Racing Tips: A 7/1 selection stands out in Saturday’s Stratford shouts

The Racing Post's tipsters see the Boys of Wexford dominating in the 17:20.

13:40 – Fresh Speculation

There’s no standout contender. Henry Daly has had a recent winner and FRESH SPECULATION, who has run well in both his handicaps, could have improvement in him. Raise Your Glass is another lightly raced contender who could have a part to play, while Good Impression was running well until losing his action last time out.

14:20 – Petticoat Lucy (NAP)

Westerninthepark ran very credibly in a hot handicap hurdle at Sandown in March and looks very interesting on today’s stable/chase debut. But preference is for PETTICOAT LUCY (nap), who returned from a layoff with a pretty stylish win at Exeter a year ago and is back down to a good mark for today’s reappearance outing. Clondaw Royale is still unexposed over fences and might also feature.

14:55 – Greyval

This may go to GREYVAL, who held her own in a higher grade three weeks ago. Strong Belle is another who contested stronger company last time and she’s second choice ahead of Ip Up.

 

15:30 – Glynn Brae

GLYNN BRAE‘s bumper win at Leopardstown has substance, and he’s narrowly preferred to Whatsyourproblem, who also showed a bit of promise in Ireland. Came From Nowhere is also of interest.

16:15 – Mikimoto

Sean Bowen’s mount MIKIMOTO was beaten by a useful rival in his second start over hurdles and he looks ready for this longer trip. However, the same is true of Silver Thorn (second choice) and Night Duty, both of whom have similar potential.

16:50 – Any Biscuits

Some of these are still very unexposed over hurdles and the betting market could be interesting, but it’s well worth chancing the fitness of ANY BISCUITS, who was in excellent form when last seen in spring 2023 and still has low mileage. Ezmerellda took pretty well to hurdling last season and is second choice, ahead of Sailed Away.

17:20 – Boys Of Wexford

Aworkinprogress won like an improver at Fontwell and Supasunrise (second choice) won’t be far away. There are others to consider and BOYS OF WEXFORD is a winner waiting to happen off his mark.
