13:35 – Kazakh D’Arthel
Willie Mullins’ Korea disappointed on stable debut and will need to leave that run well behind. Mr Percy is very decent on the Flat, but he unseated at the first on his hurdling debut and will need to prove himself in the jumping department.
The most solid bet is KAZAKH D’ARTHEL, who travelled well throughout when second at Listowel on his hurdling debut and can go one better. A market watch is advised for Jerrari and Rapparee Champ, while Banana Three is also considered.
14:10 – Nells Choice
Plenty of dead wood here and it looks a great opportunity for NELLS CHOICE to enter the winner’s enclosure for the first time. She was backed off the boards when fourth at Fairyhouse last Saturday and this race won’t take much winning.
Gordon Elliott’s Spinola Bay could improve for the step up in trip, while Yorkshire Escape would be of interest if the market spoke in her favour. Mother Ship, Weir Lane and Iamgetaway are also in the mix.
14:45 – Jetara
Proven over this far, unlike some of her main rivals, JETARA can score on seasonal debut despite missing some Flat engagements lately, intended as prep runs. Riviere D’Etel was second in this last year and could provide the stiffest opposition.
15:20 – World Of Fortunes
Though Paul Townend is on Ninth Titan, there isn’t much on ratings between him and stablemate Just For Love. However, preference is for the likeable mare WORLD OF FORTUNES, who has returned in fine fettle this year and should have more to give.
15:50 – Brilliant Light (NAP)
BRILLIANT LIGHT (nap) proved he can go on any ground when an excellent third in a hot Listowel handicap latest. He’s effectively 5lb lower here and has major claims back down in trip.
Luimneach bounced back to form at Sligo and rates as the main danger, while Slip Jig will be dangerous on her handicap debut if she’s fit after a break. Others to consider are Morepowertoya and Lilian Bland.
16:25 – Harveyshonor
A case can be made for a few of these. Hees Dynamite should be in the shake-up again for his local yard, and last time out winners Mabel In May and Will It Be You are both respected. However, HARVEYSHONOR is a tentative selection.
He has shaped with promise in his first two handicaps. This ground will suit and he should be on the premises upped slightly in trip.
16:55 – Tullyhogue Fort
A race that lacks depth. Ranger Billy, Jimli’s Cave and Lispopple all won last time out and they should go well again, though the drop in trip is a slight concern for Ranger Billy, as is the quicker ground for Lispopple.
It might be worth taking a chance on TULLYHOGUE FORT. He was beaten over an inadequate trip at Galway last time, but this test will suit him better and he has run well at this venue before.
17:25 – Korinthia
This looks to concern four of them. Switch From Diesel is the clear-form pick, but she lacks a run and may be best on softer ground than this. Cailin Deas should go well back down in grade after being outclassed in a Listed heat at Gowran Park.
Amboyna won nicely at Tramore, but she has 3.5l to find with KORINTHIA on their meeting at Wexford in August and the unexposed Willie Mullins-trained filly can uphold that form. She is narrowly preferred in an interesting race.
