WRESTLING REVENUE is going through a good spell at present, already a two-time winner at Brighton this season, and he proved at least as good as ever when runner-up at that venue last time. That was a much stronger race than the one he faces here and he’s expected to get back on the up now, likely to be at the main expense of Smooth Silesie, who arrives on the back of a career-best win at Chelmsford.

PERCY JONES has acquitted himself well in stronger handicaps than this recently and, with the step up in trip promising to suit, he’s fancied to bounce back from a rare below-par effort and make the most of the drop in grade. Miss Gitana has proven to be steadily progressive, and ought to remain competitive at this level, with Rockit Tommy worth a look after a good effort at Kempton 3 weeks ago.
15:02 – Atherstone Beau
This doesn’t look a strong maiden and the preference is for ATHERSTONE BEAU, who wasn’t an expensive purchase, but showed something to work on in two starts so far. She looked in need of experience at Beverley last time, not improving from her debut as expected, but that run will have aided her development further, and she is more appealing than most in this field. Distant Rumble ran his best race to date when second over course and distance last time and is the obvious threat.
15:32 – Vaunted
VAUNTED has ran well for this yard and produced her best effort for a while, when resuming winning ways at Chepstow recently, ending a losing run stretching back to 2022 with something up her sleeve. She fly leapt the start and unseated her rider at Chepstow on Monday, but it’s encouraging she’s out again so soon, and looks interesting under a penalty. Media Guest, who scored over course and distance in July, can get back on track returning to this venue, while Some Nightmare looks to be building something, so rounds off the shortlist.
16:05 – Glamorous Express
GLAMOROUS EXPRESS won back-to-back handicaps over six furlongs on the all-weather earlier this year and has largely held his form since, not getting the clearest run through when a close third at Sandown last time and leaving the impression he’s ready to strike again. He’s well handicapped on the pick of his efforts, now 4 lb below his last winning mark, and seems sure to launch another bold bid. Honour Your Dreams and So Smart are feared most.
16:42 – Bas Bleu
BAS BLEU remains a maiden, but she’s improving all the time, proving well suited by a return to a mile and a half when beaten a neck by a progressive type at Newbury last month. The winner that day looked way ahead of his mark, so it’s encouraging Bas Bleu pulled clear of the remainder. She remains a horse to be interested in despite a subsequent 5 lb rise in the weights. Ciara Pearl and Divine Presence are feared most in what looks a competitive contest.
17:17 – Ladypacksapunch
LADYPACKSAPUNCH has benefited from the application of a visor on her last three starts, winning over this course and distance before running well in fourth here 18 days ago, so she’s taken to double her tally on current form. Three-time course winner Galactic Glow could be the main danger after returning to form on his latest outing, with Imprint also considered.
