13:45 – Pantile Warrior

Plenty of good stables are represented in this restricted maiden and preference is for the John & Thady Gosden-trained PANTILE WARRIOR, who has achieved enough in three starts so far to think he can win a race like this. He ran his best race over this trip at Newbury last time and gets the nod ahead of Godolphin’s Watching Stars and Deauville runner-up Mighty Boy. Seacruiser and Regal Ulixes are newcomers to monitor closely in the betting, too.

14:20 – Alligator Alley

ALLIGATOR ALLEY isn’t getting any younger, but he took advantage of a drop in the weights when resuming winning ways at Thirsk last month, and he has run well in defeat since, so he rates just the pick at these weights on the back of his good recent second over course and distance. Penalised Catterick scorer Night On Earth rates a big threat, though, in his bid for a fifth victory of the term, while course and distance winners Kiss And Run and Angle Land can both make their presence felt too.

14:55 – Forest Gate

There appears to be plenty of potential in this novice and it is FOREST GATE who makes the most appeal. He receives weight from the four previous winners in this line-up and looked a useful prospect when runner-up to a promising sort at Newbury last time. The third has won since to give the form some substance and there should be even more to come from him now. Radwan and Retracement may prove the best of those winners.

15:30 – Havana Gila

It may be worth chancing HAVANA GILA, who looked a good prospect when opening her account on her second start at York in June, doing all of her best work at the finish, and she shaped better than the bare result on her handicap debut at Newbury last time. She didn’t have the best track position on that occasion, and is worth another chance to prove herself on a fair mark. Recent winners Where’s Clare and Lady Luzon look the obvious dangers.

16:05 – Durham Castle

DURHAM CASTLE has had somewhat of a stop-start career, but he was impressive when opening his account after another break at Southwell 16 days ago, well found in the market and was readily on top at the line. It is encouraging that he’s back out relatively quickly and he remains open to further improvement now entering handicaps from what looks a fair mark. Many A Star seems likely to put up another solid showing and Aramram should be involved.

16:40 – East India Dock

EAST INDIA DOCK signalled he’s ready to go in again when third over this course and distance recently when not enjoying the smoothest of passages. He wasn’t beaten far on that occasion, arguably unlucky not to win, and he is taken to edge out the likeable course winner Master Milliner. Beamish is also well in the mix on the back of his resurgent Ascot second, while 2022 victor Aggagio also can’t be ruled out in an intriguing staying handicap.

17:15 – Tiger Beetle

The pick of these may well turn out to be TIGER BEETLE, who was a pretty decisive scorer at Haydock in July and luck wasn’t on his side at Nottingham next time. He looks the way to go with William Buick now doing the steering. There are dangers aplenty, however, headed by Coolree, while the in-form Imperial Cult is third choice ahead of Meleri and Solanna.
