13:50 Lyndon B

This is wide open, but LYNDON B signalled he’s ready to win again when an unlucky second at Newbury last time out, unlucky not to go very close and probably even win, traffic problems meaning he had at least five lengths – and a few more positions than that – to find as the winner was settling matters.

He is fancied to build on that promise now despite a 3 lb higher mark. Waiting All Night comes here in top form, so heads the list of dangers, although Star of Orion, Feel The Need, and Havana Blue all bring solid credentials too.

14:25 Tamfana

TAMFANA was arguably an unlucky loser in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier in the season, not having the clearest passage through but finishing with a real flourish. She hasn’t been disgraced in two subsequent starts up in trip in the French Oaks and Grand Prix de Paris since, seemingly not seeing out the mile-and-a-half trip last time.

The return to a mile shouldn’t be a problem and, on form, she should take all the beating dropping into Group 3 company – she is 7 lb clear on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings. Likeable older fillies Choisya and Doha can follow her home.

15:00 Involvement

INVOLVEMENT looked a smart prospect when bolting up on his debut at Redcar last season and, though he was unable to land the odds next time, he was far from disgraced attempting to concede 7 lb to some other promising types.

He has some strong form this season, too, appreciating the step up to this trip when winning a strong three-year-old handicap at Newmarket two starts back, and he wasn’t disgraced in listed company last time. There should be more to come from him, and he looks very interesting now, taking on his elders for the first time in handicaps. Fellow three-year-old Balmacara coped fine with the step up to this trip when chasing home Persica here last month, and is second choice.

15:35 Field Of Gold

The Gosdens have won this race with the likes of Kingman and Too Darn Hot in the past, so FIELD OF GOLD has to be respected. His sire won this in 2013, and he built on the promise of his debut effort when winning with any amount in hand at Newmarket last month, leading under three furlongs out and keeping on well in the closing stages despite edging to his right.

There is plenty to like about him physically, and he looks ready for this step up in class. Matauri Bay is another promising sort who caught the eye on his debut and is an intriguing contender, while Royal Playwright adds further depth to an interesting renewal.

16:10 Rockin The Boat

The Newmarket maiden in which ROCKIN THE BOAT was a promising third looked like a warm race, and the Acclamation filly is pretty appealing here with William Buick booked and improvement on the way. Flight is likely to make a bold bid to make it third time lucky, having found just one too good in each of her two starts at top tracks. She is the clear main danger ahead of likely-looking newcomers Bayenah and Sea To Sky.

16:45 Love Is The Law

LOVE IS THE LAW arrives with a positive profile, shaping well on her debut and improving with each start since, winning readily at Lingfield next time and looking potentially useful when following up under a penalty back at that venue last time.

That was just an ordinary contest, but she did it well and is open to further progress now handicapping, and an opening mark of 81 looks perfectly fair. Art Market can get back on the up, having not been seen to best effect at York last time and there’s still hope for Imperial Trooper.

17:20 Rebel Path

An ultra-competitive sprint handicap to close the card, and it could be worth taking a chance on REBEL PATH, who has been finding his way back to form for his current yard, and the fitting of headgear signals intent along with the booking of the experienced Silvestre De Sousa.

Spring Bloom arrives on a hat-trick, but Robert Eddery’s seven-year-old may have to settle for silver this time, with recent winner Good Earth and Lil Guff another couple worth mentioning, too.
