Erm, Paddy. what is a Patent bet? Let us explain all!
18:30 – Indian Sounds
Paul Midgley has won the last five runnings of this race and sends out four runners in his bid to enhance that impressive record. The 2023 winner INDIAN SOUNDS holds a particularly good chance off his current mark, while Emperor Caradoc (second choice) has solid claims in the retained cheekpieces and Spring Is Sprung also looks likely to go well. Some of the contenders from the other yards are not devoid of hope.
20:30 – Tasever
A chance is taken on TASEVER, who remains a maiden but is very well handicapped on two pieces of course form and is unexposed beyond 1m, this being his first attempt at 1m2f. Bay Dream Believer, who looks worth another crack at this trip, is second choice ahead of C&D scorer Masque Of Anarchy. It’s hard to rule out Mc’ted and Tiberio Force, who both ran respectably in this race last year.
21:00 – Braveheart Boy
The combination of a return to this C&D and first-time headgear may enable BRAVEHEART BOY to record a first handicap win. He has slipped to a very attractive mark, bearing in mind that his 2yo novice success here came at the expense of a subsequent Group 3 scorer. Last year’s runner-up Milbanke is next on the shortlist, ahead of the 3yos Travis and Catton Lady. Provided he turns out quickly, King Of Tonga is also in the mix.
