14:00 – Astral Beau (each-way)

ASTRAL BEAU was beaten by less than a length in this race last year and should run strongly again. Her trainer Pam Sly had a winner at Leicester this week, so her stable is in good form and Astral Beau is a straightforward mare.

14:35 – Regal Reality

REGAL REALITY won this race last year, he likes Epsom and there’s no reason why he can’t follow up on last year’s performance. I tipped him up at Chester, where he missed the break, but still ran well to claim third. At nine years old, he still retains all his abilities and likes racing on his own. With Ryan Moore back on board, he’s more than capable of bouncing back in what looks to be a pretty open race.

15:10 – Grandlad

GRANDLAD is probably the horse to beat here. He’s improved to win his last two starts, winning a novice race at Wolverhampton and followed it up on quick turf at Goodwood. So he can handle different surfaces and has the speed to get himself in a good track position from stall 11 and put up good speed figures in his last two starts. He looks to be progressing all the time, which makes him obvious for this race.

15:45 – Looking For Lynda

I’m with LOOKING FOR LYNDA who has the speed to get into a prominent position from the start in stall one and should get a fairly comfortable run. He was second over 5f here in the spring and there was a great second at York last time out, so he comes here at the top of his game. There’s a lot to like about Looking For Lynda. He is my definite pick for this race.

16:30 – Ancient Wisdom

I’m going to side with ANCIENT WISDOM in the Epsom Derby. He was beaten by six lengths at York, which was a little underwhelming.  Normally that wouldn’t be good enough to come here and win a Derby, but York is one of those courses where you can struggle to build momentum after getting stopped in your run. That’s what happened to him. I know he’s better than that from last season’s form, where he won the Autumn Stakes impressively. I like him a lot, and if he can build on his run at York, he has the class to win the Derby.
