16:49 – Miss Collada

Wolverhampton winner MISS COLLADA might know too much for these after three runs and they’ve all been positive. Lovestruck Romeo was quite eye-catching when prominent in the betting at Brighton and he’s the obvious threat, unless there’s confidence behind the newcomers.

17:20 – Sub Thirteen

The majority of the runners have done some stints in front so it would be a surprise if this isn’t run at a good pace. That should suit SUB THIRTEEN who had to overcome a slow start on the drop to 5f, and despite travelling strongly from off the pace he got to the front in only the nick of time. Boadicia (second best) is definitely of interest in her first handicap and down to 5f, while Tangled Up In Blue is worth a look, along with Horse Whisperer.

17:55 Dancing Sapphire

It’s unlikely that this is too strong a maiden and therefore DANCING SAPPHIRE, who is from a prolific Jeff Smith family, could easily be the answer. Noel Fox could be the improver after just one run, though the Newbury race she contested has worked out very disappointingly. Northfield Lake is the second choice.

18:30 – Funny Story (NAP)

The belated returns of Harry Three and Sakheer add considerable intrigue to this Listed race and neither can be discounted with any comfort, especially the latter who could yet be a Group 1 horse. However, FUNNY STORY (nap) has the benefit of some recent match practice and there was plenty in that run at Newmarket to suggest she might progress to Group honours this season.

19:00 – Hilltop

Some in here might still have better days ahead of them. But nothing entirely leaps off the page. Perhaps HILLTOP can prevail as she was just exposed for a bit of pace over 6f on her handicap debut. Flavour Maker is surely capable of better than he showed at Ascot and this is a lower grade so may be the next best.

19:30 – Tayala

Glitterella could be very interesting after contesting a strong maiden here the last time, but she’s undergone wind surgery and been off since early September. TAYALA is that bit more solid, though Test Of Love will relish this step up in trip and Enpassant is usually thereabouts.

20:00 – Midnight Rumble

Battle Of Omdurman looks more of a 3yo on pedigree and needs checking in the market having been gelded ahead of his handicap debut. As things stand, MIDNIGHT RUMBLE appeals most as this track should suit him better than when shaping well at Chelmsford. Nothing To Fear can also feature.

20:30 – Clan Chieftain

A chance is taken on CLAN CHIEFTAIN, who hated the heavy ground on his return and might yet turn a corner after being gelded. It’s All About You is a solid alternative, while Warranty and Masterdream have to enter the reckoning as well.
