13:50 Haydock – Vadream

‌The Palace House Stakes at Newmarket is the key to this contest with a few runners there in opposition again. I can see why VADREAM has been well backed all week as she gets her favoured soft ground conditions. Beautiful Dream didn’t enjoy the smoothest of runs behind Vadream at HQ when third on seasonal debut 21 days ago. The groun dshouldn’t be an issue now and he looks a value play now despite being 1lb worse off.

‌13:55 Curragh – Camille Pissarro

‌Unexpected Issues has her chance but it won’t be easy taking on the colts where the form of Cork winner Midnight Strike looks strong. The runner-up Treasure Isle has since won at Naas but the one niggle in my mind is the ease in which he won on soft ground and has yet to prove himself on a faster surface. For that reason, I’ll side with CAMILLE PISSARRO who may have the edge on this better ground for Team Ballydoyle.

14:05 Goodwood – Regal Jubilee

‌REGAL JUBILEE ran with real credit up to appoint in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket before fading behind Elmalka. She started the season with a good second to Folgaria in the Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes and can now get her head in front dropping down to Listed class. The key for her may be running around a bend and her dam won twice at this track. The step up in trip is a little bit of an unknown but she’s unexposed over this 1m 2f distance. She can step forward again now.

14:25 Haydock – Vandeek

‌VANDEEK was unbeaten a two-year-old and connections will hope to start the new season in the same vein. He’s got soft ground form and will be very hard to beat. Esquite may be the one to chase him home in the forecast.

14:30 Curragh – Shouldvebeenairing

Five English challengers in this Group 1 contest over 6f and they’ll all carry 3lb penalties for their top-level success. Art Power is four wins from five starts at the track but Richard Hannon’s SHOULDVEBEENAIRING could thrive in what looks a really good Group 2 contest. Ocean Quest steps up to 6f and might be able to pick up the pieces late on and run into a place.

15:05 ‌Curragh – Raise You

The 1m 4f Orby Stakes can go the way of RAISE YOU who made a very welcome return behind White Birch last month when fourth, having met a fair bit of trouble in running. Natural improvement from that seasonal debut can see him go close now.

15:20 York – Trevaunance

‌A 1m 6f ‘Cup’ race which is a cracking race for the grade. Irish interest rests with Jessica Harrington’s TREVAUNANCE and Henry de Bromhead’s Term Of Endearment. The step up to this trip could be the making of Trevaunance and ran well when third behind Thunder Roll at Cork last time. She’s got the best form in the book over 1m 4f, but needs to settle better. She’s a big player.

15:40 Curragh – Rosallion

The Irish 2,000 Guineas features the second and third home at Newmarket in the Newmarket Guineas, ROSALLION and Unquestionable, both trained by Richard Hannon. It’s interesting that all 12 Aidan O’Brien winners of this Classic all had a run beforehand, his three runners this time are making their seasonal debuts. I can’t see beyond Rosallion who signed off at Longchamp last season by beating Unquestionable readily. Atlantic Coast could be one for the place or ‘without the favourite’ market at a big price.

16:15 Curragh – Saturn (NAP)

‌Jessica Harrington’s runner SATURN looks to have gotten away lightly with a 7lb rise for winning at Leopardstown on seasonal debut providing the ground stays good by race time. He has the cheekpieces on to help him concentrate over this 1m 2f trip. I’ll make him my nap of the day.
