16:45 New Theory

After finishing an excellent second behind Camille Pissarro at Navan, NEW THEORY didn’t seem suited by the drop back to 5f at Cork and can get off the mark here. Gazelle D’or also appeals from those with form after a promising runner-up effort at Naas, while No Such Thing, Booklight and Fairhaven are interesting newcomers.

17:15 Emerald Banner

Plenty of these could be sprinters to follow this season with the likes of Ojw Legacy and Apricot Ice showing plenty of ability already. However, preference is for EMERALD BANNER who was only just touched off on her return a fortnight ago and cheekpieces may help her get her head in front if she comes on for that run. Pansy Poe shaped like she would appreciate the step back up in trip on her promising reappearance and completes the shortlist.

17:50 Back Down Under

Despite being a maiden after ten starts, BACK DOWN UNDER (NAP) has run with credit in defeat and was a very good second behind Glamorously on her last handicap outing in October. She can get off the mark back up in trip. Last time out winners Dance Night Andday and Transcendental are the main dangers.

18:20 Super Sox

An intriguing maiden which could revolve around Galen given he was an excellent second to City Of Troy on his only start last season but he is returning from a 328-day absence. Kortez Bay has some formidable maiden form and was a very good second on handicap debut at Naas but it may pay to side with SUPER SOX who should appreciate this drop back to 7f after finishing runner-up to Sharinay at Cork who went close in a handicap off 93 since.

18:50 Benavente

After a couple of excellent efforts in Britain on the AW, BENAVENTE makes plenty of appeal off a mark of 81. Pinar Del Rio should put in a bold bid to bring up the hat-trick, while Pier Pressure, Expressova and lanc De Noir also make appeal in a competitive contest.

19:20 State Actor

A case can be made for plenty of these including last year’s winner, Rahmi who shaped well last time out and Casanova who is back on a good mark. However, the lighly raced STATE ACTOR could be the way to go after his recent course and distance maiden success and that form is already starting to work out.

19:50 Heavenly Power

Eddie Lynam has a strong hand with his trio of runners including Rough Diamond who shaped with promise when beaten three lengths earlier this month and Jon Riggens who gave the impression he would appreciate a return to this trip last week. However, HEAVENLY POWER is a dual course and distance winner who could go well from this sort of mark and he should leave last month’s return behind now. Of the remainder, Gordon Bennett is back below his last winning mark and last year’s winner, Tawaazon, can’t be ruled out.

20:20 Ferrybank

A competitive finale but FERRYBANK ought to run well again after a narrow defeat back on turf last week and he’s still feasibly treated, despite another small rise in the weights. The unexposed Passionate should be in the mix again despite a hefty rise in the weights after her impressive recent Killarney success and Alessia Fernanda was a shade unlucky last time and could be involved if she takes to the first-time tongue-tie.
