13:40 – Kingston Bridge
An open race in which the vote goes to KINGSTON BRIDGE, who stayed on strongly when beating 15 rivals in a series final here last month, and could find more progress on this step back up in trip. The unexposed handicap newcomer Billy Boi Blue is feared most, although Dream Boy caught the eye with a rallying effort behind Kingston Bridge last time, and is respected. Idem could be dangerous back at the scene of his last win, while others to consider are Magic Wave and Haveyougotmymone.
14:10 – Pinot Rouge
There doesn’t seem to be much strength in depth in this race and the one that stands out is PINOT ROUGE, who won a Listed event in March and was a rallying fourth in the Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree last time. This drop back in trip is probably not ideal, but she sets a clear standard on her latest form, and should be hard to beat back in much calmer waters. Point/bumper winner Sea God looks an interesting recruit to this sphere and he’s feared most, ahead of Magical Hill, who did well on his hurdling debut at Huntingdon last month.
14:40 – Raceview Road (NAP)
Although facing quicker conditions than on his chase/handicap debut at this track last time, the unexposed RACEVIEW ROAD (NAP) won twice on good to yielding in Irish points races and he’ll likely be suited by the step up in trip. Domandlouis wasn’t at his best on heavy ground on his last two starts but should be able to raise his game back on a sound surface and he could be the main danger.

15:10 – Boot ‘ N’ Shoe
Armed with several possible sources of improvement, BOOT ‘N’ SHOE gets the vote and he will be particularly interesting if the market speaks favourably. Southern raiders Dirk Gently and Arctic Lodge are respected, while Faithfulflyer has possibilities back in this grade. Call Me Jack has progressed well in handicaps, albeit on heavy ground.
15:45 – Dameofthecotsowlds
In a wide-open mares’ handicap the vote goes to DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS who goes well on this ground, and is in good form, having finished a clear second in a juvenile fillies’ handicap at Cheltenham last time. There are numerous others to consider but Shakeyatailfeather and Linda Moon are the pair taken to fill the places.

16:20 – Bollingerandkrug
It is easy to make cases for plenty of these, but the return to Kelso for course specialist BOLLINGERANDKRUG is hard to ignore, so he is taken to stage a return to form by repeating last year’s win in this race. Coastguard Station may prove the chief threat, as he’s perked up again on his last two outings, winning the latest, and had better form in the 2022-23 season. Duty Calls is third on the list but has more to prove on good ground.
16:55 – Dedicated Hero
Several have possibilities in this interesting race. Point winner Kingston James is respected after a dominant display on his rules debut at Ayr in March. Battle Born Lad has shown plenty of raw ability in his two runs, while Dan Skelton’s Disco Davis also enters the reckoning along with Donald McCain’s Flaubert. However, the vote goes to DEDICATED HERO, who overcame trouble when scoring in good style over C&D in February and just about sets the standard under a penalty here.
17:25 – Go On Chez
This is a good opportunity for GO ON CHEZ, who had no trouble justifying favouritism on his hunter chase debut at Ludlow two weeks ago. He’s the standout contender at the weights and can strike again to improve his chase record to 8-16. The main danger is Windsor Avenue, who had a tough assignment at Aintree last time, and was a creditable second at Catterick on his penultimate run.
