18:00 Sanitiser

SANITISER was a useful performer at his best on the Flat and, while he hasn’t matched that level over hurdles, he has shown enough since joining Gary Moore to suggest he’s capable of winning a handicap hurdle from his lowly mark.

Sanitiser caught the eye on his penultimate outing when fourth at Kempton in November, doing best of those held up, and he again shaped with encouragement when third at the same venue on his return a couple of weeks ago. That was potentially a strong race for the grade and Sanitiser looked a big threat until the five-month absence possibly told, so he can defy the same mark here.

18:30 Ikigai Star

IKIGAI STAR offered encouragement when fourth on his hurdling debut at Fakenham last month, shaping second best only to lose a couple of places in the straight after helping to force the pace with the eventual winner. He is entitled to improve on that experience and gets the vote here over Stay If U Want To who has found one too good on both starts over hurdles.

19:00 My Chiquita

MY CHIQUITA took well to hurdling last season, winning a maiden on her debut over jumps at Sedgefield and then overcoming a couple of mistakes to defy a penalty in a novice at Wetherby.

She beat only one home on her return in a Flat handicap at Southwell in March, but she’s entitled to be much sharper following that outing and could be a different proposition back over hurdles. Her opening handicap mark isn’t obviously lenient based on what she’s achieved, but she’s unexposed over hurdles and can raise her game.

19:30 Cooleenymore

COOLEENYMORE disappointed on her chasing debut at Taunton in March but left that effort well behind when running out a wide-margin winner at Exeter last month, forging 17 lengths clear in a gruelling affair in which only three of the 11 runners finished. Cooleenymore then ran to a similar level when finding only an unexposed rival too strong back over hurdles and on better ground at Exeter last time and a 4lb rise in the weights shouldn’t prevent this in-form mare from launching another bold bid.

20:00 Cant Beat History

CANT BEAT HISTORY was an emphatic winner over this course and distance when last seen in October and he can give a good account on his return to action. Can’t Beat History wasn’t seen to best effect when ridden with patience at Market Rasen on his penultimate start but he proved suited by more positive tactics over this course and distance, having matters under control a fair way out and passing the post 14 lengths clear. He’s up 9lb in the weights but doesn’t have many miles on the clock for an eight-year-old and is clearly effective around here.

20:30 Iorens

Irish point winner IORENS failed to build on a promising start over hurdles and was disappointing on her first couple of outings over fences. However, she produced a much more encouraging display when runner-up behind the reopposing Ferrybridge at Huntingdon last time, looking a threat until losing significant momentum with an awkward landing at the second last. She is 4lb better off with the winner here and is taken to reverse the form.
