17:05 – Abraaj

Corsican Caper didn’t look the easiest of rides without his regular headgear at Catterick on Wednesday but he did win with authority and looks worth another go over 1m6f. However, ABRAAJ has returned to form off a much-reduced mark in his recent AW starts and the likely strong pace should play in his favour. Swinging London is preferred of the remainder, ahead of Show No Fear.

17:40 – Dazy Mazy (NAP)

Bella Kopella (second choice) is still feasibly weighted and any further drying of the ground would be in her favour. She’s high on the list, with Isle Of Dreams, Torfrida and Lotus Rose also having something to recommend them. However, while DAZY MAZY (nap) has yet to be placed in her seven starts, she leaves the impression there’s a bigger effort in her and this could be the day that things click for her

18:10 – Ananda

Midream made a very good start to her career last autumn and may not go down without a fight but long-absent filly ANANDA, who was an expensive yearling and impressed when winning as a 2yo, could still have star potential and gets the verdict.

18:40 – Lethal Nymph

A huge field but not an obvious number of credible contenders. The unexposed filly Katey Kontent ran well at Salisbury when last seen and still has potential, while Fantasy Master (second choice) should be at his peak after two 5f runs this year and his C&D win last summer reads extremely well. LETHAL NYMPH also brings course form and he can leave his latest Newmarket effort behind him back at 6f. His penultimate 5f run at Newcastle was full of promise. Ascot Adventure and It Just Takes Time may prove best of the rest.

19:10 – Roxanne

Attila The Honey has been ahead of the handicapper on the AW so far but it could go either way with her under these different conditions, given her tendency to go markedly left. Flash Bardot (second choice) has plenty in her favour despite the lack of a recent run but perhaps ROXANNE can come out best as she was suited by soft ground in Germany and was ready for the step up to 1m4f when doing her best work late over 1m2f on her AW/British debut. Let Life Happen also gets a mention but none can be safely ruled out.

19:45 – Kingmont

This looks tricky and the market should be informative. College Choir improved with each of her three runs in novice/maiden events and is respected back from a short break. Contacto’s best effort came on testing ground and he looks on a fair opening mark, but the vote goes to another unexposed handicap newcomer in KINGMONT. This twice-raced filly justified support with a strong-finishing win at Kempton two weeks ago and has plenty of scope for further progress on her switch to turf.

20:15 – Diddy Man

Kurimu was a creditable second at Yarmouth two weeks ago and is respected for an in-form yard. On Song is unexposed on turf and has claims that he can take another step forward. While the Crisfords’ handicap newcomer Merrimack needs a close look Inspiring Speeches also enters the reckoning on his return. However, preference is for DIDDY MAN, who made all for a convincing win on his stable debut at Newcastle and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip.
