He’s A Latchico will be dangerous if he bounces back from last month’s disappointing effort, while pretty good cases can also be made for Royal Rhythm and Matchless. However, the one with most potential is very lightly raced 8yo GETAWAY DRUMLEE, who was second off today’s mark on last month’s belated seasonal/handicap debut.
15:55 Wetherby – Al Kalila (Spotlight)
Knowwhentoholdem is a tempting option on the back of his convincing Newbury win but preference is for AL KALILA, an unexposed 5yo who is open to improvement on his handicap debut. The very lightly raced Montregard is a half-brother to Protektorat and it will be no surprise if things click in a big way today. Yes Day, Willsburg and Idem are others who could run well.
17:05 Wetherby – Kinder Kid (The Times)
The unexposed 6yo KINDER KID relished the step up in trip when winning by 7l over C&D last week and can follow up under a 7lb penalty. Perhaps the well-handicapped Bullion Boss will be the chief danger on his second start back from a long absence. The mare It’s Maisy is next on the list.
18:00 Southwell – Suspicion (The Guardian)
He had the benefit of experience, and is also 6lb worse off today, but SUSPICION can uphold the placings with Vibrato and Devoirs Choice from Kempton four weeks ago. Liam Swagger needs a market check for an in-form stable but the main danger could come fom the reappearing King’s Fountain.
