Fran Berry’s Dundalk tips

16:40 – Samrogue
17:15 – Bruce Lightning
17:45 – Pascalia
18:15 – Al Mudhaffar (NAP)
18:45 – Wigmore Street
19:15 – Shoot to Kill
19:45 – Moondharrig
20:15 – Esquiline

Best Bets: Al Mudhaffer / E.W Treble: Samrogue, Wigmore Street, Shoot To Kill

16:40 – Samrogue

With a likely strong gallop on from Livingston Range, Sam’s Express and Below Deck, that should will bring out the best in SAMROGUE.  She does get out-paced and runs on strongly, but has a really good opportunity to get off the mark again now and get another win at the track.

17:15 – Bruce Lightning

BRUCE LIGHTNING is the more battle-hardened. He’s got a better set-up with the draw and a more experienced rider on board in Jack Kearney on this occasion. So, Bruce Lightning to beat Posh Masie. Dandy Lichious trained by Paul Flynn has a bit to find at the ratings but ran well last time.

17:45 – Pascalia

PASCALIA, that’s the one to be with. She’s got a good draw in stall 7 for her style of racing. So, with normal improvement, Jonny Murtagh’s runners have hit the ground running and Pascalia has an upwardly-mobile profile. This extra furlong should suit.

18:15 – Al Mudhaffar (NAP)

AL MUDHAFFAR (nap) will be very hard to beat when you go down through the opposition after a runner-up berth on debut here  a fortnight ago.

18:45 – Wingmore Street

WINGMORE STREET makes his Irish debut and runs for the first time since 445 days off the track since winning by five lengths at Kempton. Connections aren’t going to run him unless he’s ready to go, so he’ll do for me.

19:15 – Shoot to Kill

I’m going to take a chance with SHOOT TO KILL. on stable debut for Adrian McGuinness coming form the UK.  He is the big improver potentially.

19:45 – Moondharrig

MOONDHARRIG is the horse to beat after two wins. He’s gone up to a mark of 62, but crucially, that still leaves him in the same grade of race. He’s only a lightly-raced four-year-old and there’s a lot more improvement to come. With a kind draw in stall 6, Moondharrig sets a very good standard.

20:15 – Esquiline

The one to be with is ESQUILINE, trained by Johnny Murtagh. I like this filly who is going to get better with age, and crucially she’s a very good record fresh. She’s going to be the value here. I’m going to stick with her and hope she’s primed and ready to go for a team that look like they are ready to rock at the start of the Flat season.
