Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.

Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

13:42 Kelso – The Kalooki Kid (Daily Post, Mercury)

There can be optimism that the novice THE KALOOKI KID will improve for the step up in trip on his handicap debut and earn the vote. The wind operation and possible return to the better ground could be positives for Fostersisland, who may be a big danger now he’s back down to his last winning mark. Last-time-out winners Itso Fury and Ilanz could still have more to offer, while Pentland Hills is another to consider following his good comeback second at Doncaster in December.

13:55 Newbury – Highstakesplayer (Sunday Mail, Rockavon)

Grandeur D’Ame appeals as a chaser with more to offer, yet he’s already finished fourth in a hot handicap at Cheltenham on his completion. Preference, though, is for HIGHSTAKESPLAYER in the hope that his second run back from an absence will be as good as his first when an idling winner at Kempton 22 days ago. He remains dangerously unexposed, and it’s worth recalling that he comfortably gave weight and a beating to last year’s runner-up Gemirande in the race before his enforced layoff. Kandoo Kid also commands considerable respect as the only representative from a yard that has farmed this race.

15:25 Kelso – Aye Right (Racing Post, Spotlight)

Monbeg Genius is a deservedly high-profile candidate, one of the market leaders for the Grand National, but he’s been kept off the track for three months, and perhaps today will not be his day. Elvis Mail has to be taken extremely seriously with his course record, but there’s a niggling possibility that he may need a longer trip nowadays. Top of the list, therefore, are AYE RIGHT, the admirable 11yo who’s run so well in two veterans races this term, and Thunder Rock, who may have got his jumping confidence back and steps back up in trip.

16:50 Doncaster – Klitschko (RP Ratings)

Alan King’s KLITSCHKO has some quirks and might still be a work in progress, but he made up a lot of ground to finish second at Warwick in January and will go very well off a 1lb lower mark if all goes to plan here. Cuban Court (not to be confused with Cuban Cigar) came second in a big field over C&D on his handicap debut five weeks ago and feared most, while Playtogetaway and Densworth are others who still have potential.
