15:40 Ludlow – Pretending (Spotlight)
Time In The Sun is very interesting now raised in distance for her handicap debut and especially after her career-best effort at Wincanton. However, the drop back to 2m1f was no good last time for PRETENDING who was strong in the finish when winning over 2m4f on deep ground at Sandown in December. If seeing out the 3m, and Ludlow is a good place to try it, then she’ll go close at the least. Della Casa Lunga is another big player with Cameron Iles taking away 7lb.
16:35 Wetherby – Windtothelighting (Tipman Tips)
WINDTOTHELIGHTING Made it 4-6 over hurdles with comfortable handicap win on reappearance over C&D (soft) in November, and solid fourth in Cheltenham handicap (2m4f, soft) next time; early faller in Listed mares’ hurdle at Haydock latest; this lightly raced 6yo could continue to improve and she’s respected.
17:35 Taunton – Sorceleur (West Country)
This looks all about SORCELEUR who has finished within close proximity of a smart prospect in bumpers at Exeter and Cheltenham, latterly in a Listed race. Harry Cobden prefers him to stablemate Berliath who still rates as one of the selection’s most likely threats.
18:00 Chelmsford – Dark Side Prince (Racing Post)
Mehmo is a solid yardstick who should run well but the widest draw is offputting and preference is for DARK SIDE PRINCE. He wasn’t at his best in a first-time tongue-tie last time but that equipment is left off and he could bounce back from the inside draw. He’s taken to beat dual C&D winner Cabeza De Llave.
