16:10 Back Tomorrow

Irish raider Ballysax Lil’ Mick may benefit from a fully-fledged rider taking over for the first time, and he’s of interest on his best efforts despite being a 6yo maiden. Late Arrival needs a market check back from a break, while Glamorous Express can go well back at 6f despite his wide draw. Sixties Chic is a big player back down into Class 5 company. But BACK TOMORROW won with something to spare at Southwell last month, and she can make it 3-4 in AW handicaps.

16:40 Alafdhal

This is competitive, with several in-form sprinters lining up. The admirable Mumayaz can go well again, while Kitaab and Carlton And Co (second choice) also come right into the reckoning, but ALAFDHAL is preferred. The selection overcame plenty of adversity to win here three weeks ago, and a 2lb rise may underestimate his superiority.

    17:10 Southbank

Moe’s Legacy is the only winner in the field, and given that was only last week, she has to be high on the list. However, some potential improvers are lurking, and perhaps SOUTHBANK can take a step forward now back up in trip having been gelded. So Obsessed (second choice) should also do better now handicapping, while Rust E Boy has the assistance of Rossa Ryan for the first time and has a fair chance on his best efforts.

    17:45 Trojan Storm

Sitcom is bred to be useful over middle distances, and a big run from her would be no surprise, while fellow newcomer Shaad also has something to recommend him on paper. Alrazeen, Bas Bleu (second choice) and TROJAN STORM have all shown a fair level of ability already though, and the selection, who has looked inexperienced in both his starts, could be open to the greatest improvement.

    18:15 Mr Tibbs

There are more questions than answers going into this. The tentative suggestion is to side with handicap newcomer MR TIBBS, who doesn’t look badly treated and may be able to show more in this sphere, representing connections who do well here. If successful, Glen Heste may be the one to chase him home. Maverick Style and Birkie Boy are of each-way interest, while Clionia is not written off.

        18:45 Al Rufaa (nap)

Civil Law should give his running under his optimum conditions, but he’s on a career-high mark and may have to make do with more minor money. Wadacre Gomez is well in and in peak form, but this looks best left to AL RUFAA (nap), who was impressive over slightly shorter on his last visit here and whose latest run at Lingfield can be easily forgiven. He remains on a competitive mark.

        19:15 Tonal

Triple C&D winner Strategic Fortune is a major player, especially if solid in the market, while the returning Mc’Ted and Stintino Sunset are others to consider. There may yet be better to come from Calshot Spit, but the selection is TONAL, who got off the mark over C&D six days ago and gave the impression there is still further improvement in him.

        19:45 Beauty Choice

Soames Forsyte has been running well lately, and there seems no reason he shouldn’t put up another big effort, while King Of York is another to consider now that he has finally broken his duck. C&D winner Ciotog makes the shortlist after his better effort last time, but the vote goes to BEAUTY CHOICE, who narrowly recorded his third-course win in a stronger contest four weeks ago. He is yet to attempt beyond 7f, but there is plenty of stamina in his pedigree.

        20:15 Green Power

Berkshire Phantom has been in fine form lately and bids for a hat-trick, but he is yet to prove he wants this far, so preference is for GREEN POWER, who appeared to benefit from a return to hold-up tactics at Kempton last time. There should be enough pace on for him to aim at if ridden the same way here. Surprise Picture and Light Up Our Stars look like the pick of the remainder.
