13:45 Gaucher
From a yard mopping up maiden hurdles of late, Supreme Novices’ entry GAUCHER, a dual winner on the flat in France, should be up to making a winning start over hurdles. Ascending looks the danger, while the market should prove the best guide for hurdling debutants Angostura and Claude Du Val.
14:15 Brighterdaysahead
This step up in trip appears a fact-finding mission for the unbeaten BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD, who holds several engagements at Cheltenham. The manner in which she finished off her race at Down Royal suggests this longer trip should be within her compass and she can extend her sequence to five. Stablemate Mel Monroe is best qualified for the runner-up spot, although Pastorale is interesting now upped in trip.
14:45 Blazing Khal
Winner of this event last year after an absence of 14 months, BLAZING KHAL also won first time out the season before and is worth siding with on that basis. He had a slight setback before contesting the Stayers’ Hurdle won by Sire Du Berlais who is now well into the veteran stage and is entitled to need the run as he builds towards a spring campaign. Hiddenvalley Lake, whose chase career is put on hold, is relatively unexposed. Ashdale Bob has become frustrating.
15:15 Grace Faraday (NAP)
Normal improvement from her first handicap attempt at Limerick might be enough to see GRACE FARADAY (NAP) win a race of this standard. Padraigs Boy rates a serious threat since he was in contention when falling at the last at Cork on his handicap debut. Aodhan May has won over fences off a slightly higher mark than this and could have a big say. Zeeband seems to be improving gradually.
15:45 American Mike
Two runners each for the top stables. Willie Mullins is responsible for the two last-time-out winners but if AMERICAN MIKE can reproduce the form of a course 2m4f win in November he may be equal to this task. Paul Townend gives Nick Rockett a vote of confidence but Danny Mullins won a Grade 1 novice hurdle on Minella Cocooner and there might not be much between them.

16:15 Neveradullmoment
This trip may prove within the range of NEVERADULLMOMENT who was not beaten far in his first handicap at Thurles and has had another race, giving him a little more experience. Atacanter is still unexposed over fences and may reverse Punchestown form with Rolly Bowley Boy. Positive Thinker is creeping up the ratings but remains dependable.
16:45 Cantico
Still a Cheltenham possible CANTICO shouldn’t need to improve on his debut Leopardstown third to land this. Lough Owel, Olympy De Cerisy and the long-absent On The Steel look likely to be fighting it out for the minor honours.
