16:30 Beraz (NAP)

A few of these have met each other recently. Onesmoothoperator hasn’t had things go his way in both starts since winning the November Handicap over same course and distance (C&D), but is respected down in grade back over this trip. However, BERAZ (NAP) who finished third behind him in the big race when making his effort on a different part of the track to the first pair, is taken to reverse the form.

He has since finished fourth back here in a race that could hardly be working out better. Queen Of Ipanema is one for the shortlist given her record on the AW, especially now back up in trip, while the relatively unexposed pair Tenerife Sunshine and Skye Breeze are others to consider.

17:05 Masterpainter – this race has been swapped to Saturday

C&D winners Explorers Way and Lochnaver cannot be dismissed easily and neither can Sparkle In His Eye, given that he knows how to get his head in front. Rise Hall has been shaping as though he might be returning to winning form lately, but preference is for MASTERPAINTER who has shown some encouraging signs since switched to the AW. His pedigree suggests he is well worth another go over this longer trip. Showmedemoney is another worth a second look.

    17:35 Beylerbeyi

Both BEYLERBEYI and Royal Prospect chased home triple subsequent winners over C&D on their latest starts. The latter is much respected despite a 4lb rise, but the former races off the same mark and as that was only his second start for Ian Williams, there is every chance he can take another step forward.

Multiple course winners Jems Bond and Spartan Fighter have each become well handicapped, while C&D winner Tees George is worth a market check on his return from 132 days off.

    18:05 Harvanna

The keen-going Zola Power may appreciate the return to 5f, over which he won at Wolverhampton last month, while despite an 11lb rise the in-form Torvar can’t be dismissed in his current mood. However, HARVANNA makes plenty of appeal having only faded late on when returning from 173 days off in a Class 2 handicap over 6f here last month.

    18:35 Good Morning Alex

Despite being the most exposed in the field Likeashadow is a major player on consistency alone, while Due Consideration is worth monitoring in the market now back from 135 days off. However, the vote goes to GOOD MORNING ALEX who got outpaced at a vital stage in his hat-trick bid here last time, but with a couple of these having gone forward in the past he may find this is run more to suit him.

          19:05 Memories Maker

Those with experience don’t set a high standard, though the market support for Strive last time suggested better was expected. It will be interesting to see if his backers return, but this can go to one of the newcomers in the shape of MEMORIES MAKER. There is enough to like about him on pedigree and the stable has done well with its debutants within the last few weeks.

          19:35 Water Of Leith

Urban Dandy remains on a favourable mark and looked unlucky not to finish closer here on Sunday, while fellow C&D winner Crypto Quest returns from three months off but is proven fresh. The vote, however, goes to WATER OF LEITH who returned to winning form at Southwell last time. He has gone up 5lb, but remains well treated on old form and he may again get the solid pace he needs.
