RORY DELARGY:
I had concerns about Ballyburn going into the Dublin Racing Festival but he coped with the two mile distance really well and he’s clearly just a very good horse.
Any concerns about his suitability for the Supreme Novices Hurdle have now disappeared.
Slade Steel did his chances no harm when finishing second behind Ballyburn in the Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown. He’s a solid performer.
Caldwell Potter’s chances could have been enhanced despite us not seeing him since December. He was recently sold and he’s heading to Paul Nicholls. Whether a longer-distance race is more suited to him we’ll have to wait and see!

Ballyburn is my first pick and Jeriko Du Reponet is also worth keeping an eye on.
Nicky Henderson always has one in the frame. I was slightly underwhelmed with his last couple of wins, especially the Doncaster run last time out, but he’s going the right way and he’s been marked out for the race for a while.
