13:15 – Nala The Lioness
Four of Karl Burke’s five bumper runners in recent seasons have been placed and NALA THE LIONESS was one of them when narrowly failing to justify favouritism here this month. Inexperience appeared to cost her that day and she can go one better. Donald McCain had the winner of that race (a newcomer) and therefore it will be interesting to gauge the level of confidence behind his apparent first string Not Now Nathaniel. Ada’s Day may show more than when a market springer at Sedgefield.
13:50 – Scalloway Bay
A tricky contest in which the suggestion is SCALLOWAY BAY. Nick Alexander’s charge has begun to show some improvement and he may be able to find what’s necessary to break his duck, now he is upped in trip. Rickety Gate has greater experience and, although disappointing last time, he is seriously considered. There are reasons to believe that Ffree Pedro could do better this time, while Lincoln Burrows is another to consider.
14:25 – Beat The Edge
Beat The Edge again flattered to deceive at Sedgefield and he’s frustrating. SIX ONE NINE should go well in a race he won two years ago.

15:00 – Florida Dreams
Several of these have place claims but unless something makes considerable improvement it is hard to see them being good enough to beat FLORIDA DREAMS, who should appreciate this drop in class. Hazy Glen could perhaps prove next best, while the rules newcomer Moon Over Mexico and the returning From The Clouds are others of interest.
15:35 – Enqarde
A good handicap chase. Fenland Tiger continues to go from strength to strength but he’s raised in class off a career-high mark and might be vulnerable. Marown (second choice) should go well despite top weight and so too Readysteadybeau who beat the Richards runner last time out. ENQARDE has become hard to predict but he’d be a danger to all if on one of his going days in new cheekpieces.
16:10 – Ip Up (NAP)
Atlantic Dancer came 10l clear of IP UP (nap) at Kelso but the selection was stretched by that longer trip on heavy ground. Armed with an 8lb pull, it would be no surprise should the O’Keeffe mare gain her revenge. Golden Glance also commands the utmost respect after finishing clear behind a Skelton improver at Aintree.
