13:12 Walks Like The Man

Saladins Son has strong claims if judged on his Chepstow fourth in October but he has a point to prove after a lesser effort in November and the suggestion is WALKS LIKE THE MAN, who kept on strongly to pip a short-priced favourite at Plumpton three weeks ago and can probably improve again.

13:45 Rollos Kingdom

It’s hard to build a robust case for any of these but handicap debutants Kruger Park, Touch Of Thunder and Pride Of Paris (preferred in that order) are all open to significant improvement. However, the answer may be ROLLOS KINGDOM, who didn’t run as badly as his eventual 52l defeat might suggest in a stamina test at Wincanton last month and might fare better now dropped back in trip and fitted with cheekpieces.

14:20 Jemura (NAP)

Shuil Ceoil battled on well for a narrow win at Exeter last month and remains lightly raced but the one with most potential is handicap debutant JEMURA (NAP), who is very unexposed after only two hurdling starts and shaped with significant promise when third in a novice event last month. Bobalot was pulled up over fences when last in action but switches back to hurdling on a good mark and might also feature.

14:55 Sir Rock

Captain Claude launched his chasing career with two course wins in late 2023 and is not opposed lightly but preference is for SIR ROCK, who is also unbeaten over fences and can progress from last month’s Plumpton win if his jumping improves here. Chasing debutant Leading Swoop is next on the list.

15:25 Bowenspark

Yalla Habibi (second choice) showed more than enough in bumpers to suggest he can make an immediate impact over hurdles, while Johnny Blue made a pleasing start to his hurdling career at Hereford and has obvious scope for progress. However, BOWENSPARK looked smart when winning at Stratford in the autumn and his subsequent Grade 2 defeat is not viewed harshly.

15:55 Jerrash

153 yards are added. Southern Sam looks much the most reliable proposition but he’s not proved his stamina beyond an extended 3m1f (admittedly after just one attempt) whereas the step up in trip is an appealing move for JERRASH judged on the way he asserted late on for his win over hurdles one year ago. A chance is therefore taken that Gary Moore’s 7yo will stage a revival after running over 2m3f in his only two chases. Gold Clermont’s win at Fakenham two starts back puts her third on the list.

16:30 Bond Broker

A few of these look interesting for one reason or another but point winner BOND BROKER travelled like a good horse when third at Exeter in November and appeals most. Gary Moore’s well-bred newcomer Lumi Plugin is feared most. Irish point runner-up Tom Doniphon is next on the list.
