16:55 – Alazwar

Borgi (second choice) definitely makes some appeal after winning with something to spare at Wolverhampton but Brodie Hampson has struck up a good relationship with ALAZWAR who happened to run up against an improving subsequent winner at Wolverhampton last month. Desert Doctor and Billy Mill have realistic frame hopes as well.

17:30 – Silent Age

The ones with experience have not shown a great deal and attention is quickly drawn to the two well-bred Godolphin newcomers, Musical Dancer and SILENT AGE. The latter has already been gelded but William Buick presumably had the pick of the two rides.

18:00 – Notable Speech

Parkland and Bursinel should build on quite promising debuts but they don’t set the bar that high and it would be no surprise were this to develop into a fight between Charlie Appleby’s newcomers Venetian Style and NOTABLE SPEECH. William Buick partners the latter so he’s preferred.

18:30 – Hieronymus

The form of the C&D race HIERONYMUS won at the beginning of January was boosted when reopposing runner-up Love De Vega went in at Chelmsford, so George Baker’s charge might be able to cope with his 4lb rise. His old rival can give him most to do again, ahead of fellow northern raider Troon.

19:00 – Nammos

Habooba has been running well over 6f for this yard and she can go well back against her own sex. Premiere Beauty was impressive here last time and can make a bold bid to defy the handicapper’s advances but NAMMOS still has low mileage and her keeping-on second at Southwell four weeks ago was promising.

19:30 – Teumessias Fox

The suggestion in a trappy handicap is TEUMESSIAS FOX, who has run two sound races at Newcastle this winter and won comfortably over C&D early last year. The class-dropping Max Vega (second choice), West End Charmer, who shaped quite well behind the selection on his recent return from an absence, and last month’s Southwell scorer Oneforthegutter also make the shortlist.

20:00 – Indie Skies

He’s a maiden after nine starts and needs to better his recent Tapeta efforts but INDIE SKIES will be hard to beat at this level if able to replicate the form of last month’s C&D handicap second. Profitar Rules has possibilities in refitted headgear if his recent reappearance run has brought him on and is second choice. Heerathetrack, Lupset Flossy Pop and Time Patrol have all run well in this grade this month.

20:30 – Chacha Dancer (NAP)

Baileys Warrior and Tamaris are likely to go well but the most intriguing runner, and by some way, is CHACHA DANCER (nap). Gary Brown’s mare rewarded market support on her stable debut last summer, her first outing over 2m, and that form looks strong for the grade. She has an absence to contend with but three of the yard’s last six Flat runners have won and she still appeals as being ahead of this mark.
