12:50 – Kansas City Star

The expensive-to-follow Immortal may be a different proposition for Nicky Henderson now switched to fences but preference is for KANSAS CITY STAR, a point winner who is open to improvement on his chase debut and first run for the in-form Harry Derham. Aggagio is another interesting chasing newcomer, while Limetree Boy could take a step forward on his second start back from an absence.

13:25 – Moon Chime

A few have shown ability over hurdles but useful bumper winner MOON CHIME sets a good standard after his third in a better race at Kempton, and while he doesn’t look a push-button ride he should be too good for these rivals. Jour D’Evasion is preferred of the remainder with Strutter’s Newbury race not looking strong form for the track.

14:00 – Hard Frost

Although HARD FROST only just held on last time, he did so at the expense of an in-form 100-rated rival in at least as good a race for the grade, and he is taken to prove a rise of just 3lb is as generous as it appears. Furkash and Voice Of Hope hold claims based on previous C&D exploits, while Safe Destination is too mercurial for comfort.

14:35 – Tregele

No time has been wasted in moving Rascal and TREGELE to handicaps, and whilst both have something to recommend them on paper upped in trip it’s the latter who appeals as having been dealt the kinder hand by the assessor. Raymond Tusk remains an underachiever over hurdles relative to his peak Flat RPRs but may yet fare better over 2m4f, whilst Sun Joy and GMS Prince have something to recommend them at likely bigger prices.

    15:10 – Brides Hill (NAP)

Some of her rivals are interesting but BRIDES HILL (nap) sets a very useful standard and has rock-solid credentials to boot, therefore she’s a worthy first choice. Unexposed novice chaser Lady Adare is second on the shortlist, ahead of similar type Carole’s Pass. Veteran Pink Legend won this contest in 2022 and retains a good deal of ability, while Plenty Of Time and Sacre Coeur have respectable claims.

    15:45 – White Rhino

Beachcomber behaved badly at Catterick but he’s undoubtedly talented and unexposed, and he should be more amenable now returned to a right-handed track. WHITE RHINO is a chaser in the making but he continues to improve over hurdles and his Cheltenham win suggested further success awaits in staying hurdles. Last year’s winner Itchy Feet is unlikely to be far away and there are also cases to be made for Chantry House, who has looked to retain plenty of ability since back from an absence, and stablemate Steal A March, who has not yet reached his peak in staying hurdles.

    16:20 – Seas The Day

Interesting newcomer Crazierthandaisy has to be feared, especially if strong in the betting. As regards the runners with experience, SEAS THE DAY is particularly appealing ahead of Muriel May and What’s One More.
