12:50 – Chumlee
Blow The Budget is the handicap newcomer and has her tongue tied for the first time. Improvement is conceivable there but otherwise this seems to rest between Lacila Blue and Ballyquin Bay with their recent minor honours, along with CHUMLEE and Penpal (second choice) with their smooth wins when they were last seen in the spring. Chumlee has run in only four points and four hurdle races, so he may offer the strongest hopes of further progress.
13:20 – Rob Roy Macgregor
Heavy-ground bumper winner ROB ROY MACGREGOR has a staying pedigree and earns the vote now up in trip on his third hurdle start. Choose A Copper (second choice) and Nab Wood also have potential now up in distance, and could prove to be big dangers.
13:50 – Massini Man
The unexposed 7yo Artic Row is a tempting option having won in fine style at Ayr last month on his second chase start but preference is for MASSINI MAN, who was firmly in contention when falling two out over C&D last time out. Duo D’Enfer and Deep Charm arrive in good form, while Valence D’Aumont is one to watch in the betting now back over fences.

14:20 – Doyen Du Bar
Having won in impressive fashion at Ayr last month, DOYEN DU BAR can defy a 7lb penalty and follow up. Recent heavy-ground C&D winner Dream Boy could be best of the rest, while Point Franklin is another C&D scorer and Rattling Road and March Wind bring potential to their hurdle debuts.
14:50 – The Churchill Lad
The front-running THE CHURCHILL LAD found plenty when making all at Haydock three weeks ago and a 5lb rise may not stop him today. Bois Guillbert flopped in that heavy-ground contest but was progressive previously and could be a big danger. Cases can also be made for the others, with the very lightly raced handicap newcomer Cracking Rhapsody next on the list.
15:20 – Jet Legs (NAP)
The unexposed 7yo JET LEGS (nap) got off the mark over fences at Newcastle last month and he ran really well over hurdles on his two previous visits to Kelso. He is the selection ahead of Destiny Is All, who likes it here and was a fair third at Ayr last time. Red Happy is on a four-timer but the forecast testing ground may not be ideal.
15:50 – Super Citizen
Preference is for SUPER CITIZEN, who ran a couple of fair races in Irish handicap chases when last seen last spring. A reproduction of that form may well be sufficient in this weak race. Torngat was runner-up over C&D last April and is second choice.
