Wolverhampton 16:30 – Golden Passport
Golden Passport was picked up for 12,000 guineas at the horses in training sale and went into plenty of notebooks with his debut effort for the stable back on the 16th of December. Surprisingly, he has been dropped slightly in the handicap and his only other previous victory was around here over a furlong further. Judging by the way he travelled last time, he has the required speed to win back down over this 6f contest.
17:00 Wolverhampton – Desert Raider
The three-year-old Desert Raider is reunited with Rossa Ryan who was successful on him two starts back at Lingfield. He was slightly disappointing as a red-hot favourite just five days ago, but dropped back down in distance and it’s no surprise to see him step back up trip. He might just be the lone speed in the race. If that’s the case we know how tough Charlie Johnston horses are, up on the front end.
Chelmsford 17:45 – Expert Agent
All of Expert Agent‘s three wins so far have come on a synthetic surface, twice at Lingfield and once at Kempton. He makes his debut at this venue and also surprisingly runs down over the minimum 5f trip for the very first time. It might just be the answer for another victory as he is drawn right down on the paint in stall one. He’ll go the shortest route and the trainer has hit a bit of form lately including a double at Kempton this week.

Chelmsford 18:45 – High Court Judge
Trainer Henry Spiller has found the perfect opportunity to gain another success at this venue with High Court Judge. It’s no surprise that Ross Coakley takes over again, having been on board for both of his victories so far, including over course and distance. He’s 7lbs below his peak winning rating and with a bit of pace drawn around him, he should get the ideal run into this contest to be played late.
19:15 Chelmsford – Cavalluccio
With a little bit more luck in running, Cavalluccio arguably would have won last time at this venue. He pitches up over the same course and distance, just 1lb higher for his effort. He’s drawn on the outside in this six-runner field, so if he hesitates in the stalls, at least his jockey won’t be shut in immediately like last time. He can get his trainer Alice Haynes off the cold list for this year.
Wolverhampton 20:30 – Destinado
Trainer James Owen is looking for back-to-back victories for Destinado, who has burst onto the scene recently in Newmarket, with his jumpers winning left right and centre. It appears he can do the job on the level too as there wouldn’t be too many get one from the Tony Carroll outfit and win with them straight away. Destinado is a dual winner here and won’t mind the step up to 1m 4f either.
