There is plenty of each-way interest in this field but SHAHEEN SAQAAR appeals most, with scope for further improvement following his breakthrough win over C&D eight days ago. Russian Virtue scored twice on the Newcastle Tapeta early last year and has carried on the good work over hurdles in recent outings, so he is second on the list, just ahead of last month’s C&D winner Tio Mio.

An interesting novice. After hitting a flat spot, DREAM OF HOPE was a strong finisher at Lingfield and she can improve again for this flatter track and longer distance. Windcrack ran a similar sort of race at the same venue and she too looks nailed on to benefit from today’s stiffer test of stamina. Ville Natale and La Fleur Petrus also produced positive performances on their debuts, while the two newcomers need checking in the betting.
18:00 Savvy Brilliance
Most of these could be in with a decent shout. SAVVY BRILLIANCE looked better when winning over 1m6f last time than he did over 1m4f the time before, and he is selected to complete the hat-trick now that he is stepped up in trip again.
Award Dancer put up an eyecatching performance last time out after wind surgery, so he is feared most, but Caldwell needs respect after his authoritative Southwell win, while the fairly useful hurdler Thirtyfourstitches and ex-French Simiyann are unexposed in this sphere and could now take a significant step forward. Artisan Dancer keeps on being bang there.
18:30 Summa Peto
This looks very tight, as the half length and short head between Ernie’s Valentine, Bass Player and True Statesman over C&D eight days ago helps to illustrate. Cosmos Raj made his AW breakthrough last time and Master Of Combat (who did not have the run of the race on Friday) has been clocking up the wins but an alternative is SUMMA PETO who features off a tempting mark on just his second run for Mick Appleby.
19:00 Smoky Mountain (NAP)
With a better start and a clearer run in the straight SMOKY MOUNTAIN (NAP) may well have made a winning handicap debut over C&D last month and this unexposed 4yo can make amends this evening. Al Marmar caught the eye at Chelmsford last month on his second run for Stuart Williams and is feared most ahead of Rock Opera, who got up late over 6f here last time.
19:30 Diomed Spirit
The thriving 4yo DIOMED SPIRIT had more in hand than the neck winning margin suggests at Chelmsford last time and he can land the four-timer. Night On Earth continues to drop down the weights and is second choice now back at 5f, ahead of handicap newcomer and C&D winner Moon Flight. Strong Johnson is another possible.

20:00 Miss Moonshine
Rod Millman’s stable is in tremendous form and MISS MOONSHINE can defy a 5lb penalty for her win at Lingfield on New Year’s Eve. He’s An Angel got no run in the straight over C&D on last month’s stable debut and could be the chief threat, ahead of Doves Of Peace who showed plenty of pace over 7f last time.
20:30 Della Mare
Hollie Doyle’s mount DELLA MARE is handicapped to have a big say judged on last spring’s form and there can be optimism she will improve for last month’s comeback run. Similar comments apply for two-time course winner May Remain and she is second choice ahead of last-time-out C&D winner White Mist. Sisters In The Sky could also be involved now back down in trip.
