Perfect Spring had four of these behind when a close second over 6f here last time and shouldn’t have a problem with the return to this trip. She is high on the list alongside Birkie Boy who wasn’t far behind her in third and knows how to win, but a chance is taken with DAMIA who has run well here before and who again performed well when fourth in a big field on stable debut at Leicester last time. She has been shaping as though she would appreciate the return to this trip.
17:30 – Rascal Recknell
There are some interesting newcomers lined up in this, especially Regal Defence and Sold The Dream. Market support for either would be significant, but RASCAL RECKNELL was picked up for 215,000gns after running so well in his only start for Owen Burrows at Sandown in September and can make a successful stable debut. Symbol Of Power was a bit disappointing on debut, but could well improve for having been gelded and the stable has such a good record here.
18:00 – Born A Rebel
Being top on bare figures and bred to relish this scenario, BORN A REBEL is the pick of the few runners with experience. She sets an ordinary standard as things stand but could well run to a bigger figure now. Flying Finn, Fashion Show, Attila The Honey and the two Marco Botti-trained fillies are shortlisted newcomers, in that order of preference. Heed the market signals for further guidance.
18:30 – Fouroneohfever
As regards the few runners with experience, FOURONEOHFEVER is preferred ahead of Timetobenice then Portsmouth. The market signals should be very informative with regard to the newcomers, especially as some stables are doubly or triply represented. Several of the first-time starters are interesting types.

19:00 – Dark Side Thunder (NAP)
Eight-time course winner Soar Above has dropped to a handy mark, being 1lb lower than when winning this race in 2020, while dual C&D winner McLean House is worth considering if last month’s Wolverhampton return has brought him on. Handicap newcomer One More Wave is worth monitoring in the market now making his handicap debut after seven month off, but the vote goes to DARK SIDE THUNDER (nap) who is 6-10 on the AW and whose record around here reads 1131.
19:30 – Salt Bay
This year’s Wild Flower Stakes partly revolves around whether Rebel’s Romance is back in top form. He has failed to sparkle in both completed turf runs this term and ran poorly when last seen on an artificial surface but is high class on his day and this is a major drop back in grade. An interesting alternative at bigger odds is SALT BAY, a lightly raced colt who remains open to further improvement. Progressive Base Note, who holds solid claims, is second choice. Goldspur, a stablemate of Rebel’s Romance, and promising Irish raider Elegant Man are other interesting contenders. Blanchland may still have more to offer on AW, while Max Vega is more exposed but has the ability to get involved.
20:00 – Holy Fire
Back on AW the vote goes to HOLY FIRE, who has steadily progressive RPRs in this sphere and could do well this winter. She should have no problem with an absence since July, having gained her spring success when fresh. Momaer, another filly who looks open to further improvement, is feared most ahead of Crimson Angel, Miss Bella Brand and Kodias Sangarius.
20:30 – Baulac
Tony Carroll holds a promising hand with BAULAC and Time Patrol, who are both interesting returned to 7f. Indie Skies is another comparatively unexposed 3yo to consider while Reve De Magritte, who has clear possibilities on her course form in October, may prove best of the older runners unless Agapanther gets an easy lead or Moorgate is effective back up 2f in trip.
