13:15 Wodhooh

ITV Racing is back at Newbury Friday starting here with a Listed juvenile hurdle for 3yo over an extended 2m. Hard to get away from WODHOOH who has won three on the trot over jumps since coming off the Flat from Sir Michael Stoute and looks useful. Soft ground is no issue and the daughter of Le Havre has no penalties so with a rating of 130 will be hard to stop.

13:50 HERMES ALLEN

Now a Grade 2 novices’ chase over 2m4f. I can’t wait to see HERMES ALLEN here and expect him to take all the beating on chase debut despite flopping when last seen over hurdles at Cheltenham and then Aintree, although he wasn’t disgraced when third behind Irish Point. This trip looks ideal and not many Paul Nicholls novice chasers don’t jump. Will need to be on his game to see off Nickel Back but for me he’s a class act in the making. Harry Cobden rides.

14:25 THE BIG BITE (each way)

Here’s a handicap chase over 2m4f. A wide open event. THE BIG BITE is hard to predict but there is no doubt he’s well handicapped if anywhere near right for Henry Oliver and Ciaran Gethings. The old boy only ran three times last season but managed a success at this track over this distance off 135. If he repeats that effort he will be in there with an eachway chance.

15:00 PAISLEY PARK

A Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle over 3m. Marie’s Rock has age on her side and the ground is not as soft as PAISLEY PARK would like. However, I still am happy to stick with the Emma Lavelle stable star who is back for more at the age of 11 going on 12! Tom Bellamy rides with Aidan Coleman sidelined, and while of course his best days are behind him it’s worth remembering that just this year Paisley Park was a fine third in the Cleeve Hurdle and this time last year he scored at Kempton. Come on my son!

15:35 Ramo

Finally a handicap hurdle over 3m. Hyland is in great from but RAMO might be able to keep up the good work fo 4th very much win form Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch. My selection came back this term with a win at Ludlow and these conditions are ideal. The success last time was over a bit shorter and this step up in distance is ideal as he gets the trip well.

So, best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
