12:25 – Sawpit Sienna
If last season’s pattern is anything to go by, SAWPIT SIENNA can improve a bundle for last month’s reappearance run at Worcester and she can exploit a handy mark. Soft-ground C&D winner Horn Cape is second choice now back over hurdles, although it will be interesting to see how For Three goes in the betting on his stable debut. El Jefe could also be in the mix.
13:00 – Langton Wold
Brian Ellison’s LANGTON WOLD was a fair winner on the Flat and shaped well on his debut in this sphere when a recent runner-up over C&D, so looks the way to go here with progress very much on the cards too. Donald McCain’s hurdling newcomer Professor Klump could emerge as the chief threat, especially if the market vibes are positive, ahead of fellow debutants Thank You Blue and Mister Moodles.

13:35 – Light Flicker
Dual C&D scorer Onestepatatime (second choice) teed herself up well for another visit here with a recent fourth over hurdles at Kelso but the vote goes to LIGHT FLICKER, who also boasts winning C&D form and can capitalise on a handy-looking mark on the back of his encouraging Cheltenham return. Chasing debutant Fortcanyon appeals as the pick of the rest.
14:10 – Tom Creen (NAP)
Not so competitive as the numbers suggest, and TOM CREEN (nap) looks very much the way to go on the back of his cosy victory here last time out. In-form maiden Coolmoyne appeals as the one to chase home Sam England’s two-time C&D winner, ahead of Brickadank and Morandi Second.

14:45 – Supremely West
Richard Newland’s SUPREMELY WEST looked a good prospect when getting off the mark in this sphere at Carlisle and rates a confident choice to defy a 7lb penalty with this longer trip also a likely positive. Hurdling newcomers Classic Maestro (second choice) and Toscan Genius could emerge as the chief threats ahead of Wetherby third Magical Arthur.
15:20 – Special Rate
A few of these offer potential but it’s hard to ignore the claims of SPECIAL RATE, who has won his three most recent starts for Philip Kirby, including on his chase debut at Hexham. Chasing newcomer Cerendipity appeals as the sort to do well in this sphere and rates the chief threat, although both Fils De Roi and Upagainstit also command respect in an intriguing contest.
15:55 – Bridget Breeze
A case can be made for a few of these but BRIDGET BREEZE has some fairly useful winning bumper form to her name and ended last term with a very good Wetherby novice second so looks the way to go. Fellow handicap debutantes Line In The Sand, You Some Girl and Darsi’s Darling also enter calculations along with course winner Joie De Vivre and in-form Solway Molly (second choice).
