Clonmel Oil Chase tips and runner-by-runner guide to Clonmel 2.50 on Thursday

Allaho is back!

Allaho

Allaho makes his long-awaited return to the track in the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase on Thursday.

Injury means the dual Ryanair Chase winner has not been seen on track since landing the Punchestown Gold Cup in April 2022 and he faces just three rivals including stablemate Janidil, who carries a 5lb penalty for scoring at this level last term.

French Dynamite finished ahead of Janidil in this year’s Ryanair Chase and should keep Willie Mullins’ pair honest, while outsider Grange Walk completes the line up for Thursday’s 14:50.

The latest Clonmel Oil Chase odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise Timeform’s guide to the runners as well as betting tips from the racing boffins can be found below.

Clonmel Oil Chase verdict

Timeform: A race which revolves around ALLAHO, who will be a cut above these if still anything like the force of old after his absence. His stablemate Janidil is the one likely to profit should the selection fail to deliver.
