13:07 Country Lady

Frodon’s half-sister COUNTRY LADY made it second-time lucky in bumpers with her brave win here in April and she gets the vote on this switch to hurdling. Wincanton bumper winner Goodtimecrew is feared most on her hurdling debut, although Nicky Henderson’s Brave Jen is another interesting contender who should have a future in this sphere.

Others to keep an eye on are A Tickatickatiming and point winner Chief Lady.

13:37 Sadlers Bay

Most of these could plausibly have untapped potential over fences but the most interesting one is arguably SADLERS BAY, who ran well when third in a Warwick hurdle in May. Divine Inspiration was very well supported when third on his chasing debut and is feared most. Proper Twelve is next on the list.

14:07 Goodwin

There should be more to come from Emailandy, who was placed in an Exeter bumper in April, but the most obvious answer is GOODWIN, who created a pretty good impression when striding clear to win a Fontwell bumper in February.

The tricky ones to weigh up are Hawaii Du Mestivel, who has been absent since a promising Irish point run in December 2021, and Nicky Henderson’s new recruit Avada Kedavra.

14:37 Burrows Park

Pyramid Place took his form to a new level with an excellent win at Chepstow last month and is respected, while solid cases can also be made for Mr Freedom and last year’s winner Lord Baddesley. However, it might be worth chancing quirky veteran BURROWS PARK, who comes here fresh and will be hard to beat off his current mark if in the right mood.

15:07 Blade Runner

The tough front-runner Tip Top Mountain has a record of 6-13 in this sphere and he’s respected along with Kayf Hernando, who has won two of his four chase starts and is open to more progress this season.

Island Run went close on his chase debut at Kempton last month, while Wouldubewell and Midnight Mary also enter the reckoning. However, the vote goes to BLADE RUNNER, who has form figures of 11211 over fences and his first three chase wins came at this track.

15:37 Western Soldier (NAP)

West End Boy is unpenalised for his comfortable win at Wincanton eight days ago and remains lightly raced but WESTERN SOLDIER (NAP) could be even better handicapped and is given the vote. Milton Harris’ 5yo was a talented Flat racer when trained in Germany and won a recent C&D maiden with considerable ease.

16:07 Copshill Lad

He’s yet to win over hurdles but COPSHILL LAD was running a big race before his last-flight fall at Fakenham in May, and that form has been well advertised by the winner since. The 5yo may not have been ideally suited by the fast ground when third in a recent Exeter handicap and, now 1lb lower, might be the answer.

Godot was in excellent form when last seen in the spring and is second choice, ahead of handicap debutant Dylan’s Double.
