The New Masan was a winner from a 2lb lower mark on all weather LTO. He comes here today off a mark of 58 but he did win on turf last July off 63, so is still potentially well in and is worth taking a chance on given he is currently been in decent form and could be peaking for the season.
Plenty of excuses for this one last time out but he won his previous start on the flat in May at Thirsk and the runner-up from that race has won back to back races since, so the form looks particularly strong. The selection was only beaten by a length over hurdles following that flat success. He’s in good shape, no probem with this 17f trip and is weighted to run a big race.
Alexander James has run three solid runs since May, posting some very good ratings and speed figures to back that up. Only beaten by around a length last time out, in a stronger looking race than this one today. He has a lower mark today, a good jockey change and there is plenty of juice about the price.
