Ayr 14:30 – Ghadbbaan

Ghadbbaan showed signs of a return to form with a good third at Epsom last time out and the step back up in trip looks a real positive. He is now below his last winning mark too. Golden Shot is an unexposed type at the head of the market but he’s 0-3 in this grade and Ghadbbaan has been always been pretty consistent without getting his head in front too often. He should be in with a chance at a decent price.
Ayr 16:15 – Gentle Ellen
1.5 points each-way
Gentle Ellen was well beaten two starts back when stepped up to a mile but she then dropped back to 6f at Carlisle and won nicely. She’s dangerous over this trip and is a previous course and distance winner. She won’t mind the ground and is still lightly raced so we can expect plenty more improvement. She should be going close in this company.
Beverley 18:30 – John Kirkup
1.5 points each-way
John Kirkup was twice a winner on heavy ground and both came over six furlongs. He is also a six-time winner over today’s trip but he was a beaten favourite over five furlongs at Ayr last time out when maybe not getting the run of the the race. He drops in class with conditions to suit and he’s on what looks like a good mark. He’s well up to winning a race a like this.
