Horse Racing tips: A 5/1 pick tops the list at Newton Abbot today

14:35 – Max Of Stars

Hourless was quite comfortably too good for MAX OF STARS at Hexham last month and meets that rival on the same terms here but Ollie Pears’ free-going filly ran her rivals ragged from the front over same course and distance (C&D) on her next outing and is selected in the hope she can stage a repeat performance. The two hurdling debutants, Secret Sauce and Sgian Dubh, also enter the equation.

15:05 – Honey Im Good

It’s hard to get away from HONEY IM GOOD, who appeared to have plenty left in the tank when winning over 2m5f here on Monday and probably won’t mind what the weather does. Consistent hurdler Brianna Rose beat only one rival on her chasing debut but she did so easily and is earmarked as the main danger.

 

15:35 – Jack The Farmer

Sandalwood took advantage of a good opportunity in a recent course maiden and should again be very competitive in this handicap but JACK THE FARMER looked in excellent nick when opening his account at Worcester a fortnight ago and is taken to overcome his 8lb rise. Nickelsonthedime is also likely to play a major role.

16:05 – Landen Calling

Farouk De Cheneau has got his career firmly back on track for his new stable this season and commands respect as he bids to complete a hat-trick but the suggestion is LANDEN CALLING, who made a very bright start to his chasing career in the spring and might be better equipped to cope if the ground ends up on the soft side of good.

16:35 – Sassified (NAP)

It’s reasonable to expect another good run from Vision Of Hope, while Getaway Tom drew nicely clear to open his account at Uttoxeter two months ago and is also respected. However, fair Flat racer SASSIFIED (NAP) got his act together over hurdles here last month and has plenty of scope to build on that performance.

17:10 – Miladygrace

t might pay to give another chance to MILADYGRACE, who did pretty well for Martin Keighley last season and can be excused her below-par run in May. Master Mead showed his first significant promise before coming to grief on last month’s chase/handicap debut and remains very unexposed. Finalshot, Seymour Promise and Scrumpy Boy also have claims, although the last-named may need the rain to stay away.
