14:30 – Ben Macdui

Ayr specialist One Last Hug was short-headed over same course and distance (C&D) last time and is a tempting option, but preference is for BEN MACDUI who was a promising fourth at Newcastle recently in a better race than this. Soul Seeker has been running pretty well in defeat and could be involved.

15:05 – Dingwall

Sennockian has the best form on account of his near-miss over 5f at Goodwood a fortnight ago but he faded over 6f there prior to that. A chance is taken on DINGWALL, an 85,000gns yearling whose debut fourth of six over C&D came in a race that has worked out very well. Vantheman is second choice following a promising debut at Haydock, while Master Franca is another who can run well.

 

15:40 – Far From Ruby

C&D winner FAR FROM A RUBY has a good record at Ayr and earns the vote now back here after two lacklustre performances at Musselburgh. Irish challenger Reverberation is feared most, ahead of Our Dickie then Banner Road.

16:15 – Old Smoke

3yos have won the last five runnings and OLD SMOKE, whose sixth in the London Gold Cup reads extremely well, is taken to bounce back from a lesser performance at Musselburgh and win in first-time cheekpieces. Fellow 3yo Chriszoff makes his handicap debut having made all in novice races the last twice and he could be a big danger, along with Dubai Souq and the in-form filly Sophiesticate.

 

16:50 – Sparks Fly (NAP)

The prolific filly SPARKS FLY (NAP) is taken to make it six wins in a row, having again had something to spare when scoring at Chester last time. Irish challenger Royal Pippen may be the chief threat ahead of the 3yos Gincident and Power Of Gold, while Redarna is entitled to respect having won here seven times.

17:25 – Rory The Cat

Lucinda Russell won this last year and the stable’s RORY THE CAT gets the nod, having won at Beverley recently. Spirit Of Ash arrives in good form and could be the main danger, with Braes Of Doune and Stelios others who can run well.
