Horse Racing tips: A 5/1 play leads the way at Leicester tonight

The racing boffins at the Racing Post like the look of Navegaon in the 18:10.

17:40 – Tea Leaf Ted

This ground over a stiff 5f will provide a good test for juveniles at this stage of the season and, with the three with experience setting a fairly low bar (Ponga didn’t see it out on soft ground latterly), anything could happen. Coastal Sunrise’s dam was happy on this sort of ground for the same yard and she’s a possibility, along with Fengari, but Dominic Ffrench Davis is enjoying a good spring with 2yo and TEA LEAF TED may be up to adding to the tally.

18:10 – Navegaon Gate

A few of these were useful in the past but only NAVEGAON GATE, who ran fairly well a few times over hurdles late last year, has achieved anything half-decent in recent times. The market will tell a tale with Celestial Force back from 18 months off.

18:40 – Autumn Flight

Front-runner AUTUMN FLIGHT arrives in good form, having been recently picked up from Phil McEntee, and will have no problem with the much softer ground. He’s preferred to Danzart and Autumn Angel, who are closely matched on recent C&D running, with the lightly raced Malham Tarn Cove another to consider.

19:10 – Lowton

Unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Roger Varian’s newcomer Green Go this might develop into a straight fight between LOWTON and Ascari, with narrow preference for the former.

19:40 – Tyger Bay (NAP)

This looks a good opportunity for TYGER BAY (NAP) to return to winning ways after two good seconds at Windsor. Blind Beggar had an excuse at Redcar last time and is a big player judged on his second in a big field at Doncaster the time before. The in-form Broken Spear is next in the pecking order, followed by Parisiac.

20:10 – Albeseeingyer

The progressive ALBESEEINGYER is taken to extend her winning spree to five. Eponina was second off this mark at Beverley last time and might be the one to follow the selection home.

20:40 – Distinction

Habitual hard-puller Buraback has only gone beyond 7f twice and he’ll need to be more amenable round here if he’s to see it out. Kingwell, who’s never run on this sort of ground, and Big Bear Hug are both wildly inconsistent, and DISTINCTION, who’s been in good form this spring and has conditions to suit, looks the way to go.
