Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
GENTLEMAN AT ARMS was second in Grade 1 novice at Aintree (3m, good to soft) in spring 2022. Unable to match that form during rather disappointing campaign last season (included two chase runs) but took step back in right direction when close fourth at Warwick (3m1f, good) recently and remains on a good mark.
INTHEPOORHOUSE was third in 7f Galway nursery on final start for Gavin Cromwell. Gambled-on when disappointing at Dundalk on return. Fourth of 23 at the Curragh last month, when not having the clearest of runs, was much more like it.
SUNSET POINT is a sister to the yard’s Creative Flair (smart) and Secret Victory (useful), who have not proved themselves beyond 1m2f. Ended autumn campaign with a 1m win here. Evens, asserted in grand style from over 1f out in handicap at Windsor (1m2f, soft) on return, suggesting she will stay and has further improvement in her, which is needed.
BRENTFORD HOPE had some very good form on the Flat and was runner-up on first three starts over hurdles before leaving Richard Hughes for 90,000gns. Long odds-on when winning maiden at Wincanton but he beat a promising horse of Nicky Henderson’s with the pair miles clear at Huntingdon (2m, good to soft). Thrown in at the deep end for his handicap debut but off a potentially good mark.
