13:05 – Sandown – Joe Dadancer
Under Control bounced back last week after a disappointing run at the Cheltenham Festival but I’m not sure she’s been aimed at this so I’ve landed on Joe Dadancer at a bigger price. He’s improved with every run this season and it looks like he’s been campaigned with a handicap mark in mind. He gets an opening mark of 118 and connections would be disappointed if he can’t show form in the 130s. He’s a solid pick at a price.
13:40 – Sandown – Captain Guinness
On recent form, the one who’s too big of a price is Captain Guinness for Henry de Bromhead. His horses haven’t fired at Punchestown this week but Captain Guinness’ run in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham was solid. He would be my tentative pick as the prices in this race aren’t great. Greaneteen could also win this but I’m not getting stuck in at short odds.

14:15 – Sandown – Coolvalla & Mucho Mas
Kittys Light’s claims are obvious considering he’s off the same mark to his Scottish Grand National win. The question over him is whether you think he can bounce back and win twice in a week. If Revels Hill is second favourite, then the horse that beat him last time out, Coolvalla, must be a good bet. He’s a much bigger price too. He pulled up at Cheltenham but he bounced back and won at Exeter. That run was solid and while he might not have the gears for this, I’ll take a chance on him.
The other one I considered is Mucho Mas. He gets in here and he’s unproven over the trip, however, he won at Sandown in March. His best two runs have been his last two outings so he could go well.
14:50 – Sandown – McFabulous
Hewick has big claims but the question is why is he running? This is a bit of a nothing race. It seems strange placing. He probably wins but I also fancy McFabulous to run well. He’s a lot more consistent than his figures suggest. You can put a line through his Newbury run and hopefully he can bounce back at a bigger price than Hewick.
