Horse Racing tips: Ruby Walsh’s picks for Saturday’s ITV Racing from Sandown

Ruby is all over the tellybox Jumps action at Sandown and he can't see past Kittys Light in the Gold Cup Handicap Chase (14:15).

13:05 – Sandown – Iberico Lord
13:40 – Sandown – Captain Guinness
14:15 – Sandown – Kittys Light
14:50 – Sandown – Hewick

13:05 – Sandown – Iberico Lord

I’m going with Under Control’s stablemate Iberico Lord. I was at Cheltenham for his run in November where he ran below expectations and he fell at Kempton on Boxing Day. He had a wind operation and he bounced back at Stratford earlier this month. Aidan Coleman is on board for Nicky Henderson so I’ll take a chance on him.

13:40 – Sandown – Captain Guinness

This is a tricky one but I just feel that Captain Guinness is overpriced. I don’t want to be getting into Jonbon at his price but I feel like he wants a longer trip. I’ll take a chance on Captain Guinness with Rachael Blackmore on board.

    14:15 –  Sandown – Kittys Light

    Kittys Light left a major impression on me when winning the Scottish Grand National last week and I fancy him to follow it up. He’s on a hat-trick and he’s still off a rating of 140, which is really workable.

    14:50 –  Sandown – Hewick

    I’m on the favourite Hewick. Hopefully his fall at Cheltenham hasn’t taken too much out of him and this race is weaker than the Gold Cup he ran in. If he puts in a similar performance, he’s got a great chance.
