14:05 – REALISM
REALISM has achieved just a modest level of form in three starts over hurdles to date, but it will be no surprise if he proves a totally different proposition now making the switch to handicaps. A useful maiden on the Flat, he ought to prove capable of better in this sphere somewhere down the line and an opening BHA mark of 109 appeals as a fair starting point for him to build from.
14:40 – BLOOD DESTINY
BLOOD DESTINY proved a disappointment when finishing down the field in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last time, but it’s far too soon to be writing him off after just one bad run. He’d looked a smart prospect in winning his two previous starts over hurdles for Willie Mullins and just a repeat of the form he showed when winning by a wide margin over this course and distance in January might well suffice in this Grade 2.
15:15 – CADATHARLA
CADATHARLA is improving in leaps and bounds and remains one to be interested in having been beaten just a neck at this course last time. He is 5 lb higher in the weights today, but his record of run-to-run improvement suggests he may yet have a bigger effort in the locker, with the slightly longer trip here promising to suit, too.
15:50 – ASTERION FORLONGE
ASTERION FORLONGE shaped as if the run would bring him on when filling the runner-up spot on his belated reappearance at Thurles last month, holding every chance two out before seeming to get tired. He is entitled to strip fitter today and the fact Paul Townend sides with him suggests a big run is expected as he tries to add to his Grade 1 success as a novice hurdler a few seasons ago.
16:20 – EASY GAME
EASY GAME has won five more races since winning this Grade 2 for the second year in a row 12 months ago, proving himself at least as good as ever. This will be his first start since October, but he has gone well fresh in the past and looks to have a class edge over his rivals on Timeform’s weight-adjusted ratings. Tough and consistent, he rates a confident selection to complete the hat-trick.

17:00 – AMIRITE
AMIRITE again ran well when finishing third in a Grade 3 novice at Naas in January, passing the post only six and a half lengths behind the winner and looking unlucky not to finish closer still having been bumped sideways before the last (made his only mistake there). Still totally unexposed after just four starts over fences, he is likely to have more to offer as his stamina is drawn out further and a mark of 138 could underestimate him on handicap debut.
17:40 – SIR BOB
SIR BOB is well into the veteran stage of his career at the age of 11, but he proved at least as good as ever when finishing third at Navan a few weeks ago, keeping on well to be beaten just a length and a half. He is only 1 lb higher in the weights today and appeals as perhaps the most solid proposition in a wide-open contest where very few can be ruled out.
18:10 – BALLYBURN
BALLYBURN won his sole start in points and again looked a very good prospect when making a successful debut under Rules at Punchestown in February, doing his best work in the final furlong to land the spoils by two and a quarter lengths. He should go on improving and gets the vote to maintain his unbeaten record despite Patrick Mullins choosing to ride stablemate Ile Atlantique.
