16:55 –  Astrophysics

This is a tight call between the in-form pair ASTROPHYSICS and Glorious Charmer who finished first and second in a 5f handicap here last Monday. The former has a penalty for that success but he produced a power-packed finish to beat his old rival and may well be able to confirm the placings and strike again on this step back up in trip. Bomb Squad was only just caught over 7f here last time and is respected on his return to sprinting, while others on the shortlist in this open race are Kath’s Toyboy and Admirable Lad.

17:30 – Boarhunt (NAP)

Eye Of The Water and My Boy Jack come here with recent wins under their belt but BOARHUNT (NAP) looks the one to beat after making a successful handicap debut over 7f here ten days ago. He still has a lowly mark to exploit with the prospect of going on to better things and the likely strong pace here should suit back at 6f. My Boy Jack could give him most to do ahead of Mustaffiz.

18:00 – Wreck It Ryley

Inspired Knowhow and Blue Yonder move into handicaps with untapped potential but WRECK IT RYLEY still has time to do better himself and he can register a second success. Mintana and South Dakota Sioux (second choice) are feared most.

19:30 – Class Member

Preference is for George Boughey’s well-bred filly CLASS MEMBER, who just about sets the standard on her close second at Southwell 13 days ago and is open to more progress. The Gosdens’ Cruella De Vill has gone close in both of her 6f runs and she’s feared most on her return to sprinting. Another interesting contender is My Turn Now, who made a promising start when runner-up behind an impressive winner over C&D last Monday.

Cheltenham Festival 2023 Preview Night

19:00 – Evania

Top of the list is the well-bred mare EVANIA, who made it three wins from four starts when scoring in good style at Southwell last month. A 5lb rise for that success looks fair and she’s open to more improvement. The main danger is hat-trick seeker Nolton Cross, who has really kicked on again on Tapeta recently, including an emphatic success over C&D last time.

19:30 – Johnny Boom

The lightly raced 4yo Heathen came good with an emphatic win at Newcastle in September and he’s a key player with Oisin Murphy booked on his return to action. Greystoke is respected after his clear second in a similar race here three weeks ago, while Down To The Kid and Victory March also enter the reckoning. However, the vote goes to JOHNNY BOOM, who has won three times at this track since December and was only narrowly denied off this mark over C&D last Monday.

20:00 – So Chic

This looks trappy but it might be worth siding with SO CHIC, who had a near miss over C&D on her penultimate run and is a big player if she can recapture that form back at this track. Second choice is Prenup, who went close at Lingfield in her final run in the autumn and is respected back at 7f on her stable debut. The other one on the shortlist is Under the Twilight, who has possibilities if she can find some extra spark on this drop back in grade.

20:30 – Blackcurrent

Preference is for six-time Tapeta winner BLACKCURRENT, who made a bold bid when runner-up in a similar event at Southwell last week and is well drawn to attack. Amazing Amaya finished well to go close in a C&D handicap last time and she’s feared most, ahead of Katie Scott’s last-time-out winner Rockley Point. Another to keep an eye on is the unexposed Cavalryman, who is a possible improver on his classified debut.
