14:05 – Fever Roque

FEVER ROQUE ran another solid race when filling the runner-up spot at Newcastle a few weeks ago, ultimately passing the post 11 lengths behind the winner, Knocknamona, who gave the form a boost when following up on his next outing at Carlisle. Yet to finish out of the frame in three completed starts over fences, Fever Roque is 1 lb lower in the weights than last time and seems sure to go well again in a race where most of the eight runners don’t find winning easy.

14:40 – Halligator

HALLIGATOR justified short odds with the minimum of fuss when making his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter in June, hitting the front before the last and just needing to be shaken up from there to win by a length and a half in ready fashion. He is likely to progress further as he gains in experience and this is a weak race in which he should be able to defy a penalty if ready to go after nine months off. He’s also fitted with a tongue strap for the first time today.

15:15 – Innisfree Lad

INNISFREE LAD capitalised on the drop in grade with an impressive victory at Hereford eight days ago, gradually drawing clear from the back straight to land the spoils by eight and a half lengths (eased down late on). Crucially, he escapes a penalty for that success and it goes without saying that he should take plenty of beating in his follow-up bid if arriving in the same sort of form, with the return to further also likely to play to the strengths of this thorough stayer.

15:50 – Jet Lags

JET LEGS confirmed his return to form with a good second at Ayr last month, doing his best work on the run-in to be beaten only six and a half lengths. He can line up from the same mark today and Theo Gillard – who is going well with four winners from his last eight rides – claims 3 lb off his back. Still low mileage after just eight starts over hurdles, Jet Legs should be winning races before too long and today could be the day for him to get off the mark.

16:25 – Percussion

PERCUSSION proved a disappointment when down the field at Kempton last time, but it’s probably worth putting a line through that run. The balance of his form suggests he’s simply better on a left-handed track, so it’s best to focus on how well he’d run in two previous starts this winter, twice finishing third over the Grand National fences at Aintree. He has everything back in his favour today, going left-handed again on what looks likely to be nice ground, and a BHA mark of 129 is clearly workable if he can rediscover his best form.

17:00 – Glory Pride

GLORY BRIDGE shaped encouragingly when filling the runner-up spot on his handicap debut at Doncaster last month, passing the post only three and three-quarter lengths behind the winner and arguably deserving extra credit having made his effort earlier than ideal. The first two pulled clear of the rest and the form looks even better now it did at the time with the winner going on to complete a hat-trick. Glory Bridge is 5 lb higher in the weights today, but he remains open to improvement and is fancied to prove equal to the task.
