Lingfield 12:45
TipMan Selection – Masqool
Wager: 1.5 points each-way
Masqool looks to represent some decent value in the opener at Lingfield in what does look a very trappy race with plenty of chances. He’s well handicapped here and 5lbs below his last winning mark. He’s a course winner previously and had a good 4th up in class so he should appreciate these calmer waters. The yard is in very good form at the moment and the trainer jockey combo have a good record at Lingfield with 17 winners. The trainer doesn’t send many here but has a 24% strike rate when doing so and Masqool looks to tick plenty of boxes.

TipMan Selection – Silverscape
Wager: 1.5 points each-way
Silverscape is very closely matched to a short priced favourite in Base Note but I don’t have a huge amount between them based on what they’ve done so far and the biggest difference I can see is the price, so Silverscape looks to represent all the value. He’s a course winner from his only start here and he had wind surgery in October last year. Since then he’s put in two solid efforts at Kempton which may not necessarily suit his style, being a hold up horse and the fact it’s a right-handed track. Now back at Lingfield and looking progressive after the wind surgery, he looks to have a big chance. Another yard in great form at the moment and this 4 year old should come rattling home late on.
Lingfield 15:45
TipMan Selection – One Step Beyond
Wager: 1.5 points each-way
One Step Beyond is a 5 time winner in this grade and drops back to this level after a bunched finish 7th in a class 5 last time out when only 3 lengths behind the eventual winner. He dropped 2lbs for that and is now just 3lbs above his last winning mark but with the jockey’s 3lb claim, he’s effectively on his last winning mark. He was twice a winner at Lingfield and his close 7th last time looks pretty decent form with a winner already coming from that race. Add to that the 6th place the start before that has had a 50% win rate from horses who’ve raced since. If he’s showing anything like what he did during his purple patch last year he warrants serious consideration at a nice price.
