12:30 – Artistic Choice
The vote goes to ARTISTIC CHOICE, who has some useful form at up to 2m1f on the Flat and is an interesting recruit to hurdling for Michael Bell. Dual Flat winner Noble Anthem was well held at odds-on on his hurdling debut but he should benefit from that experience and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he took a major step forward here. Agilulf could be dangerous if he can build on his encouraging third over C&D ten days ago, while another to keep an eye on is Charlie Longsdon’s hurdling newcomer Ardbraccan.

13:00 – Snowy Clouds
Check My Pulse showed determination when justifying favouritism at Carlisle and he’s a big player again off his revised mark but preference is for SNOWY CLOUDS (NAP), who is still lightly raced and made a good start over fences with his all-the-way win at Market Rasen last month. Blue Hawaii makes her chase debut after another break but her hurdles win came in similar conditions at this track and she needs watching in the market.
13:30 – Royal Mogul
This looks a decent opportunity for Donald McCain’s ROYAL MOGUL, who was a close second behind a useful rival at Wetherby on his hurdling debut last month and is bred to appreciate this stiffer stamina test. The main danger is Bold Soldier, who showed promise in his two hurdle runs last winter including when runner-up over 2m4f at Uttoxeter.
14:00 – Thereisnodoubt
Lock’s Corner has a good weights chance on his old form but two contrasting runs over fences before a close call over hurdles suggest all might not be plain sailing with him these days. Bollin Neil is primed for a good run, as is triple novice winner Not What It Seems but THEREISNODOUBT has an easier task than some he has faced in recent times and should be all the better for his recent return from a break.

14:30 – Herewegohoney
This looks a bit trappy but it might be worth siding with dual hurdle winner HEREWEGOHONEY, who is a half-sister to a useful 3m3f chase winner and looks interesting switched to this staying trip on her first run over fences. Anthony Honeyball has two runners, and the main threat could come from his dual chase winner Lilith, who could kick on again back down in grade on her second run after an absence.
15:00 – Johnson’s Blue
The Mark Walford-trained JOHNSON’S BLUE was held in his bid for a five-timer at Aintree on his seasonal return but that was behind a well-handicapped rival in a Class 2 event and this 5yo could resume his progress on this drop back in grade. He gets the vote ahead of Salvino, who got off the mark over hurdles in a Kelso novice 23 days ago and looks worth a try at this new trip.
15:30 – Tipperary Star
As regards the runners with bumper experience, TIPPERARY STAR and long-absent Kankin bring the best form while Thatza Dazzler is open to improvement. Market confidence behind interesting rules debutant Sleeping Satellite should be heeded and the same comment also applies to Kankin.
